The Orignal Xbox's Thompson drive has an absurdly low reliablity and I am now on my second Xbox due to that fact. "Damages" is a bit far, but I think the basis of the suit is valid.

Id say the problem is that the only tool consumers have to protect themselves are the courts. A 3 month warranty period? Come on, on these kinds of consumer goods you should have the legal obligation to provide a bit more dureability than that IMO. As a consumer you shouldnt have to go to court to get companies to live up to that obligation.

Best I can tell it came broken as the vast majorty Thompson of drives simply have compatablity issues with certian games. On top of that their ability to read disks deteriates very quickly. The reason it is only once is because I made sure my second one didn't have a Thompson drive.

You're nuts. You don't HAVE to buy the damn thing you know if you think 3 months sucks so bad (which it does by the way - we got 2 years guaranteed by law here against manufacturing defects).

What obligation? You know what you get when you buy the thing. 3 months is stated on the warranty slip or receipt or whatever, if it breaks after that it sucks, but too bad for you. How can you POSSIBLY sue for something like this? Do you sue Levis too if a button pops out of your jeans???

An xbox is like 95% plastic, of course it will break! It goes without saying. Jesus, grow some hair on your balls for frigs sake and quit whinin.

If they are popping of for everyone else with jeans as well and Levis won't accept their fault for using crappy buttons, a suit is justfied.


And it is not because the Xbox is mostly plastic, it is becuase the drive on the early ones is crap.
