They have definitely improved on the aesthetics, and it also seems slightly smaller!

Maybe the logo is going to look something like this?

Thanks :p
I just think a compas rose thingy, like the old S/360 logo, would be the natural evolution of the existing logo, signifing a progress from only four directions to a full 360 degrees.

The Xbox 360 should look like this. Rolling on xboxes.

What was wrong with "Xbox HD"?

Unpronounceability in any language that's not english? ;)

Besides that kinda sounds like "Current Xbox with HD features added to it". Not an all new Xbox, if u know what i mean...? Or is it just me?

imagine it's gonne be like that! .. make me a nice toast please ;)

Now, I'd buy a console that came with a built-in toaster. The ultimate for couch potatoes. :)

Does anyone else think it faintly disturbing that we're up to the 4th page of discussing the name of a console after just a short amount of time? :p

The media slang NextBox is the best name IMO. Descriptive, catchy wordplay. Or stick with Xenon - a meaningless, generic name though still with the 'X' contingent. 'XBox360' is 'aloof'. What does the 360 mean? See, the only console thus far that I know of to actually have a numerical sequel is PlayStation. Nintendo and Sega et al creatd new names for new systems. We didn't go NES, NES2, NES3, NES4, nor did we go, NES, SNES, N64 without reason. N64 meant 64bit Nintendo. And also there were different names for different regions Sega Geneis = Megadrive, and SNES = Famicon.

I dunno. I guess I won't be able to accept a number unless it's justified, as either part of an already numbered series or a description of the system. If Sony went PlayStation, PlayStation 300, I'd still think it daft! Either come up with a new name (SuperPlayStation) or a standard sequel (PlayStation2)

If this takes off, will we see the same with films? Will we see a two part Kill Bill named "Kill Bill:Volume 1" and "Kill Bill:360"? Will StarWars be repackaged Episode 1, Episode 360, Episode 2000, Episode Epsilon, Episode GT 2000, Episode Googleplex?

I agree, Geezer. "NextBox" would be a good choice. As of right now, "Xbox360" doesn't seem to make much sense.

It's funny, watching these giant companies make decisions about the branding and positioning of their products. You'd think a company as large and experienced as Microsoft would put forth a killer name for its next game box, but what we have right now is a certifiable head-scratcher.

Maybe things will become clearer in time. I sure hope so!

It doesn't make sense, Xbox is a well established brand name in North-America and Europe, I see no reasons for Microsoft to alter that to something like 'NextBox'. No doub that the name 'Xbox' will return, with an added number or word...

XboxNext sounds better than 360.

Just talking in general, they won't dump 'Xbox' as a brandname, I am very certain of it.
