the notes only mention crossfire scaling for w2 nothing else

ps: the tooltips flash up and say press "." to set a trap, that doesnt work

Looks like the patch is out...I downloaded it at work its sizing at 14.5 MB which is surprisingly small. Something seems a bit fishy. It was called Patcher_GOG.exe I don't know if that is official or not but some guy found a CDN that is hosting that patch file. Hmm go figure.

The good news is that the patch is ready. The bad news is that we have encountered some problems with the server infrastructure, making downloading DLCs impossible. We want to apologize to our fans for not meeting our target of delivering the patch last night. We will update you when we know more.

ps: whats a cdn ?

Ah sorry CDN = Content Delivery Network...fancy term for a bunch of servers that host stuff. For example a big site like CNN they can't keep everything on their own servers so there are CDN's they have agreements with that push all the images and so on and advertisements etc. In this case I think Edgecast is the CDN IIRC that CDP has an agreement with to host their patches. There are people already running the patches. Only catch is you can run the patch if you did not download the Troll DLC in the first place. What a mess!

The patch was out for a few hours, and then the pulled it, so there was obviously some problem. CDP is already talking about another patch next week, but they haven't managed to get this one out the door yet!

I talked to my friend who sided on the other side of the big fight. We just realized that the whole chapter 2 was different and in a different locale depending on who you side on. I thought about that when playing but I thought it would have been a too big of an investment from the game makers for replayability. Pretty awesome if you ask me. I'll have to replay soon.

As far as I can tell and I could be wrong it was because of the DLC. People who hadn't activated the game but were trying to install the patch had issues and people who had grabbed the DLC and were attempting to install the patch had issues. If you just activated your game and then you didn't get the DLC for whatever reason and ran the patch then you are good to go. That is what I have found out so far. But still the patch is awfully small for something that fixes so many thing.s

OK ,i just looked at the amount its downloading, over 9 Gig, what the hell.

Over steam right? I read another user reporting the same thing. IIRC the GOG download was 9 gb which then extracted and became 15 gb on the disk. Don't tell me it's redownloading the entire thing all over again with the DLC included and DRM removed! That would not sound like a patch at all!

The GOG patch is only 9MB. It still doesn't fix my "unable to parse User.ini" problem though.

Apparently there is a 9 GB compressed file in the witcher directory, and it is replacing that file, instead of replacing content inside of that file.
