Why GCNext?

SEGA earning more than Nintendo? Not in the slightest, we've just started making money and that is mainly from arcades.

Ok, profitting more than nintendo, nintendo posted a loss around the same time sega posted their first earnings in a while. Something like $50 million versus a $20 million loss for nintendo.

Ok, I see what you're saying. I was looking at both comapnies earnings throughout the year and not a specific half. Nintendo easily made hundreds of millions more than SEGA for their fiscal year.

btw, I very much like the name "GCNext" even if it is a codename.

it speaks volumes about Nintendo's next console being backward compatible 8)

And for being "more of the same" and "unoriginal."

I hope neither of the three systems reuses a previous name, but I know it will happen anyway. :( Why can't they do what Sega did? Sega always had cool names.

Yeah, they were always named after bands....who liked those bands anyhow?

Some of you seem relieved after reading that Gamespot quoting the president of Factor 5 denying they will be leaving NIntendo. Well, I would be so quick because according to this Gamespy article, Factor 5 is supporting Microsoft's XNA.

It's interesting that even the president of Factor 5 calls the Nintendo next-generation console "GCNext".

So how can Factor 5 be developing for Nintendo's next-generation console and also be supporting XNA which is meant for Xbox2? There is ONE interesting possibility. That GCNext and Xbox2 are the same.

Didn't know either "master system" or "megadrive" were bands though... Either they were known in Japan only or they were very fringe overall in their nature... ;)

Which music genre would you say they belonged to? The second sounds like death metal to me. ;)

That or factor 5 are develloping the XboxNext's codecs for divx :D

There's also rumors of factor 5 going "multi plateforms".

XNA is not meant just for XBox 2, its meant for "Microsoft's various platforms". One of those platforms is the PC... need I say more?

'Next' has been a popular tentative title for a variety of new products. Personally, I'm kind of annoyed by it.

Instead of calling something '*title* *sequel number*' or 'the next *title*' they decided it could be '*title* Next'. For example, Crazy Taxi Next.. Xbox Next.. Ridge Racer Next, etc etc etc. It makes things sound cooler than they are.

Actually, I think master system really was a band, but I doupt megadrive was. Ok, maybe not, can't find any music by master system.
