Some questions:
* G70 seems to be capable of doing gamma-corrected antialiasing. Is this correct? If yes, is it enabled by default and does it cost performance?

* HDR and FSAA seem to be mutually exclusive with the G70, too. Is this a limitation of current games or a limitation of G70?

* Are there any reviews that have some pics, which show the IQ difference between 8xS and 6xAA + TSAA?

I think something's wrong with Anand's graphs... he consistently scores 6800 SLI higher than everything @ 1600x1200 4xAA :oops:

True. You think he would have noticed that and provided some explanation, a lot of those graphics look completely wonk.
 
Technically speaking - a very dissapointing product, practically a puffed up NV40 with no technical innovations whatsoever (no unified pixel & vertex shaders, no new AA alghoritms, same HSA scheme, Longhorn baseline support is still ways off, etc...). A cheap cop out by NV.
The transparent AA is a cheap (though a pretty nice) trick and the perfomance is obviously top-line for the time being (with ULTRA contending with R520 when that comes out).
Now obviously, on a tech level, Xenon in the X360 is more of a forward-looking product, but what difference, if any, is there between G70 and NVIDIA's own RSX employed in PS3?
 
Is the 7800 GTX really optimised??

Looking at the link Cavvdarrr posted, the 7800 GTX is just as fast and even sometimes slower than the 6800Ultra with just 16 ALU's.

Has it really been optimised or has Nvidia just slapped on the extra 8 pipes?

It's slower in just one test, while in 2 other tests is 15% faster..so yes, it has been optmized for real imho
