When Tuesday does the G70 NDA expire?

_xxx_, that is one of the two available options.

What's the other again?

To the question above, I referred to the case where we have multisampling enabled. Would only the transparent textures get SS, with the rest of the scene being MS?
From all the rumours and stuff I understand that the user has 3 options available:

Code:
opaque transparent
texture texture
------------- -------------
MS MS
MS SS
SS SS

If you already use SS for all textures you don't need additional Transparency AA.

That is true, but I meant that the user can choose from 3 types of FSAA methods. Where ofcourse the sweetspot is MS for opaque textured polygons and SS for transparent textured polygons. I think that is what nVidia has done. Simple, but effective. BUT, I can be wrong, so I hope Dave can clarify it very soon. ;)

Lotsa curious people around today...reminds me of the console forum during E3 :p
Ofcourse I am curious. I get extra excited to visit the B3D forums and post more than usual everytime a new generation of videocards is about to be reviewed. ;)

The user can choose the AA type the same way as before. Transparency AA is an additional option you can select [OFF, MS, SS]. This make sense because more and more games allow you to select the AA inside. But you will not be able to select the transparency AA in this games. Maybe some of the new games that we will see next have such a option.

Interesting quote from guru3d review about performance loss with transparent antialiasing:

Ah you know what? Just see image below. The apparent drawback is, that it's power hungry. Enabling this setting can get your FrameRate down by 10% But since we have the raw horsepower of the 7800 GTX, you probably want to use and enjoy :)

Only 10%? Must... have... new... card...

A more meaty review!

Uggg I guess any doubt about guru3d being an objective review site has gone out the window as I grew sick of reading the first few pages as it was more of PR banter then review... "increase its shader supremacy" ok if you say so.... :(
