What laser should i get for pstwo?

I have a PAL model scph-7004 and that's all I know about it. It gets quite many problems reading discs so I think I have to change the laser

This is probably the lens that's in it right now:
PVR-802 V12

But then there's this:
SPU 3170 V12

And also the first one with motor and everything:
PVR-802W V12

So which one should I take?

Depends on which PS2 you have. You should check your PS2 to see which one you actually have (even though you have a 70004 model, they come with either type, and they aren't compatible). So you should open yours up and see which one it looks like. Chances are you have the PVR-802 as it's more common on 7000x systems. The SPU 3170 is a better unit, but if yours comes with the PVR-802 it's not going to work right. If you do end up getting the PVR-802, I'd go ahead and get the whole block as well (not just the laser), otherwise it's more apt to fail with missmatched parts.

if i where you, i would search and buy a second hand PStwo .
as far as i remember , a new laser costs around the 50-60 euro. Or are they cheaper now?

I didn't know you could change the lens in the Pstwo! Wish i could do that on the old model.
