That first quote is a bit ambiguous.
130% YOY or 130% from the prior sales period? The former would be notable, the latter would be expected.
Pachter estimates a reduction form last Dec for PS3.

Yeah, but it's vgz. I'm guessing it's december vs. december, since they referred to november vs. november. But it's PR speak, so who knows? We'll find out next Thursday, NPD'll be out. 130% up over december 2007 does seem unlikely, too.
People analyzing the 40% YoY console sales suggest that it'll be ~760k for December, which would be lower than Dec 2007.

That would put it above the Wii's December 2007... surely you're not expecting that kind of performance from the PS3.

Even 50 would help them a lot. I WANT to get one along with KZ2, now they need to make it easier.

Yeah really, I see only upside to such comments from MS.
-Creates doubt in the mind of potential PS3 shoppers ("Well, maybe I'll just wait for the price cut")
-Could create anger against Sony should such a price cut fail to materialize at all
Maybe, but I think that the people who are willing to believe what an MS PR guy has to say about Sony are those who think a price cut is coming soon anyway, no matter how much Sony denies it.
PS3 seems to have recieved a 1000 NOK (€ 106] price cut in Norway. Price before was between 3500-4000 NOK (€ 425 ) (some dealers sold below the suggested retail price.)

Those offers have been all "old" 40GB stock. Not a bad deal as such, but that there are numbers around to be pushed out as broadly advertised offers from some of the larger electronics retail chains half a year after it was supposed to be discontinued could be construed as a bad sign.
Agree and i have one(40GB USA version),but my wyfe play much more than me and this cause some disturb in my house
i need other ps3 sooner as possible.About link ..maybe MS have some information(i dont know how) price reduction before ending fiscal year 2008 in japan (march/april).
(i have perceptions with US$299 is a "magic number" to things begin to happen in a console market... i pray Sony read this...)
