Playing Portal 2, and man the game looks so bland ! is there any way to spruce up the graphics? How can Valve release such graphics for a PC game in this time and age and get away with it?

Because it has awesome gameplay?

Aha ! Fans ! I am one too, loved Portal 1. but time has passed since then and P2 seems to be stuck in a time portal.

The engine looks old an dated now. Maybe the looks will improve later, but the beginning doesn't justify itself as a current PC game. Games look much better these days. Artw2ise it is Valve stuff, but tech wise i was expecitng improvements over the Orange Box.

I am intending to play Portal 2 especially now that the Move support is in and the Motion DLC ... But it is actually surprisingly difficult to get a hold of!

Yes, I clearly said in my earlier post that that art wise its all Valve Jazz but there seems to be no improvement in the engine since the Orange Box days. The game just looks old , even though its a new game.

As I said earlier, techwise, it is just bland. Even a simple POM shader would make things look better in Portal 2, leave alone all the Post processing thats standard these days.

Low detail geometry with low quality lighting cannot be a deliberate art choice.

The game is fun, though. Good to hear GladOS again !

I'm thinking about loading up The Witcher 2 tonight, after a pretty long hiatus from it. There's lots of news floating around the web about a third in the works, and after a tease that brought much speculation that this was actually the case, CD Projekt Red has stated they're working on a new title with a "fully open world," which hopefully is TW3, in addition to Cyberpunk 2077.

I'm in the market for a new RPG. A friend of mine highly recommends Dark Souls, which I hesitated buying during the last Steam sale. And after doing some research, the reception of the game seems pretty noteworthy, but something keeps preventing me from buying it. Anyone actually play it and willing to offer some insight on it?

I played quake 2xp
now playing quake 1
no opengl based engines would work with my 6950 glquake/tenebrae/darkplaces
but found a directx based engine directQ and it works great

Played some more Crysis. Was in the alien tower/spaceship thing. How cool was that!! Absolutely amazing graphics! Atmosphere was really dense to, liked it more than the beginning of the game...great!

Portal2: have warmed up to the graphics now, lowering gamma of my monitor seems to have helped a lot. Lets say, I am in love with Portal again !!!! Superb gameplay and puzzles ....there's always that 'what am I gonna do...ummm...' Followed by 'yes ! Got it ! '

Sme novelty is sure lost. GaldOS doesn't feel that interesting anymore as you know she is gonna make another sarcastic comment after another. Hope there's more to her than just that. Wheatley guy is crazy ! Hope he gets the spotlight soon !

All in all : Lovely game ! Why didn't I play it before ?!?!?! Got me hooked . Hope it was playable on my iPad too, then I could take it to bed with me.

Finished Crysis. The second half was way better imo. Not only the action, but also the graphics. Some wow moments for sure in this game.

Playing Prototype. Damn, I wish the run button was not on L2/Right Trigger... My controller has a very stiff set of triggers and my fucking index finger is still a bit sore despite not having played it for several hours.
