I am a really big fan of the vegetation in the beta. Zero aliasing issues, very detailed, responds well to player movement, varied and very well lit as well.

Are they using SpeedTree or is it something custom? Looks really good.

Hate to be the negative guy but that environment and tree branches+trunks look very low poly and fake. Flat polygons everywhere. Star Wars has already shown us what 900p60fps can do.
Characters and lighting seem to look really good in motion.
Gameplay seems very fun, saw a video where everyone was enjoying being spiderman :D !

Downloading gamersyde video to see the real thing !

I would agree for geometry but not for foliage/trees, i think it looks great. Obviously Battlefront using tessellation for close proximity geometry smooths things out but it's not particularly great from a distance, in these two shots i got from the PC version (maxed out) you can still clearly see how rocks and ground geometry miss-match:

My thoughts overall:
  • Lighting is debatable, both use volumetric sources and do it quite well
  • Moblur is definitely much better on BF
  • Foliage is good in both but i like U4 more
  • U4 is more stable in motion and in static shots, it's a much cleaner game overall when it comes to aliasing but both do a good job
  • There's no pop-in issues with U4, it's quite bad on BF even maxed out on PC (my only major complaint with the game visually)
  • Character models are much higher quality in U4 (expected)
  • Animation quality is much better in U4
The one thing that differentiates the two the is direction they aim for, Uncharted was, is and will be stylized and not realistic while Battlefront tries to look 1:1 with the movie sets and comes very close. Both great looking games and the best looking 60 fps games on consoles so far imo.

Yea, just watched the gamersyde video and it looks at par with Star Wars, I think, other than the close up of trees in Endor, which is pure wow. Definitely more free flowing in movement than BF, but being a small map, maybe it should have looked better. Saw the Jungle Map. The non-realistic shapes of things obviously distract but the dynamically adjusting HDR in UC4 has the same wow effect that Star Wars. Lighting is the king in both the games. Maybe the ambient lighitng looks more colourful and exaggerated in BattleFront making it "pop" more.

Uncharted 4 looks like a cartoony videogame. Much more cartoony than the previous games.

With Battlefront you are immersed in the world of Star Wars. Not behind a camera or through an artistic vision; you are inside the world of Star Wars.

Personally I think it stays true to the series... no more or less cartoony. I think that's the look they are going for. Colors are just very saturated, particularly outdoors in daytime.

TLoU2 will probably look more realistic. Plus the engine will be more mature by then. Not that UC4 isn't already impressive or anything.

edit: just watched the GS footage - I think it looks great. Performance is also pretty solid for a beta. Looks very fun too.

??? Examples? If anything, i believe this is the most realistic Uncharted has ever been. TLOU influence and all...
Just my general impressions. Something in the lighting and textures... It always reminds me the Tintin cartoon. Maybe it's just me.

There are 5 "mysticals"

The El Dorado (huge golden statue) = AOE DPS, basically thrown to make enemies run away from it, if someone camps throw that and they will disperse or die
The Cintamani stone = AOE heal/revive for teammates
The Sceptre = Reveals enemies on radar in a huge radius, can be destroyed
Indra’s Eternity = Slows down enemies in a small AOE
Spirit of Djinn = Makes you dash all over the map kinda like Delsin with smoke in Infamous Second Son

Uploaded one more clip from the other map

Destruction and firefights can get pretty hectic in this map, skip to 6:45 if you wanna see what i am talking about :p

As per the pictures Karamazov posted, character models are no better than those in Battlefront.

Animation on the other hand is much better on BF. Characters don't slide around the ground when running for starters.

Also, maps are much bigger in BF.

AHA! I was right :p

I called it, so Uncharted 4 is using whatever the hell Until Dawn was doing to hide polygonal edges (and it works really well in motion), and that's the trick they said they were using instead of tessellation! In motion it behaves exactly like Until Dawn.

Some screenshots from the direct feed video, Uncharted 4 models look a lot better than Until Dawn imo
