Uncharted 3

No, I mean you don't see the animation between one stance and a punch. The fist (and sometimes all of the body) just transports instantly. Everything goes back to normal speed after that (or sometimes even to a slowmo speed ala GoW).

I see. Interesting... need to play that game again to remember the feel. ^_^

EDIT: Should have shown the short trailer in Fallon's show too. It adds mystery to U3 ("Be careful what you wish for"). Fallon didn't play well and we only need a quick tour of the fire room, rather than watch Jimmy freak out when his foot got stuck. :LOL:

I don't think the responsiveness of the controls have anything to do with the physics engine. It's a design choice. Pretty much all of the player movement animations in RDR are canned. It's only the ragdoll effects that are dynamic, such as when you fall down a hill, fall off your horse or are sent flying by an explosion. That's why RDR shows the same type of sometimes jarring animation transitions that other games like Uncharted show. I can't think of a single game that doesn't have some abrupt transitions, because they have to retain responsiveness.

I thought RDR used inverse kinetics, adjusting the animation by calculating the placement the feet. Making it feel awkward just walk around because you can never predict where he'll place his feet, and how much the game will adjust for it.

Whatever it is, RDR controls terrible. It may look more realistic, but it doesn't feel more realistic to play.

You could be right about the walking, because it has a weird feel. But all of the punching, climbing, jumping looks like mo-cap stuff that responds like any other game.

Full campaign coop is a must for this to be real progress. just like U2's online coop, only the whole story end to end, would be a blast.

If that's the case, I sincerely hope not!
I'd rather have a fully fleshed out single player campaign designed for maximum enjoyment rather than the option to play it co-op. Resident Evil 5 was fun for what it was, but I wouldn't want to see Uncharted go down the same road. I also have a feeling a co-op type of play would degrade the game more to a shooter than encourage a more stealthy gameplay. I quite like the idea of having parts in the game where Drake is sometimes alone and not dependant on others.

I thought Uncharted 2 had the perfect mix. Unforgettable perfect story-mode and a seperate, very fun and addictive multiplayer component with the co-op modes there.

U2's coop was too short though. If necessary they could provide a second route through a level for single-player stealthing. As the coop is online only, they could even do dual-stealthing, like the museum robbery in U2, each going a differnet route. That could be very tight, taking out a guard on your side of the level that enables a colleague to progress and take out a guard blocking your route, with a nasty fighter fight if either of you get it wrong. Really wants to be three player though.

Edit: I might add at this point, because The Agency is AWOL, I'm making demands of U3. If The Agency reappears and provides that 3-player experience, I could let U3 go back to being a single-player story! ;)

The co-op missions in Uncharted 2 got old really fast. Not sure I want full campaign co-op. I'd like to see Uncharted 3 with a lot more sophisticated and challenging platforming sections, and I think adding co-op would put some limits on what they'd be able to do. Having a dedicated co-op mode is great idea, but they need to make it a lot more fun and replayable than it was in Uncharted 2. They need to be a little more dynamic, like Left 4 Dead, so you don't always have the same experience. They could also be a little more creative with the co-op levels and have ones like the truck level, the train or the rooftops with the helicopter. All of the co-op missions were sort of basic.

I concur ! That should be the philosophy for every game out there. That is why I love UC2. Thats why I gave away my RE5 (after even missing office the day RE5 demo came out :LOL: ! I started downloading the demo and called up my office that I am sick. After a while, my roommate asked me, "Whats up?". I said,"RE5 demo has arrived!" Next moment he called up his office to report that he was sick :LOL: ! Us Gamers ;) !).

Games designed from ground up for Co-op turn into a botmatch if you play alone. There's just no sense of living an adventure anymore. They sure are fun in CO-op, but on SP mode, they become a mindless chore, just like RE5 became from the amzing masterpiece RE4 was. I think it was GT, who mentioned that HALO:Reach also feels that way, one bot match after another as, clearly the game is designed for 4 player co-op. I know, many will disagree, and I haven't played it. But that reviewer did feel in Halo:Reach what I felt in RE5 playing alone.

If you are so keen to have Co-op embedded in SP, just make something like L4D, which doesn't care for anything else. For something like Uncharted, the whole experience and appeal will fall flat if they make it like RE5. The whole point of Uncharted is being that quick witted hero in a goofy kindof adventure.

Its not a shooter (yet). Its an action-comedy ! Let it be that way. I think ND knows that very well.

Coop in UC3 was good. But I would prefer the fully SP campaign playable coop! Playing as Sully and Drake must be the natural choice IMO! They should design the whole story around those two guys and implement the SP campaign with Sully as your AI buddy...if you play solo.

UNCHARTED 3: Drake's Deception will be playable in Stereoscopic 3D.

I hate you Sony. Why do you keep doing this? I can't possibly afford a new TV, especially one of those nice Panasonic 3D plasmas that are such good value and.... STOP IT! NO!

I feel pretty much the same way. 3D TVs are starting to hit my price range earlier than I actually need/want a new TV. So the price will just have to go down further. :p

Hopefully they're down to 500 euro by June 2011. I've basically set myself a limit on getting a 3D TV until that date. That's still plenty early enough for Drake, and not too long after Motorstorm and Killzone 3 (and way too long after the release of GT5, but I guess I can live with that for now).

Even then I won't 'just' get one, but I think it'll be a good moment for it.

:LOL::LOL::LOL:

The reason they are doing it works.....just dont buy a Panasonic. Buy a Sony

Never! I'm a plasma boy, and all reports seem rather consistent in saying the LCD 3D TVs have a lot to be desired, especially compared to plasma ones. Not that i've been thinking or reading about the whole thing a lot............... :nope:

Yap… I am keeping an eye out for a small Plasma 3D now.

Took a step back and look at my office. nightshade is right.

My office is like a game room now. :LOL:
* PS3 + tons of BR movies and games
* Small Home theater system with high quality headphone (GAF made me do it !)
* Move controllers + PS Eye
* GT5 steering wheel
* [Next Up] Plasma 3D TV + 3D glasses

If they listen carefully, people can hear the steering wheel movement (and my soft screams + curses) outside the door these days.

What in the hell is your job? Sounds like heaven!! Mine is boring!
