Uncharted 3

Doughnut Snake?

What's with donuts... ^_^
Regular Snake skin complete with MGS theme song. Make it a DLC with Konami. I'll buy !

Full campaign coop is a must for this to be real progress. just like U2's online coop, only the whole story end to end, would be a blast.

Yap, when I play U2 online, I always choose co-op exclusively. Have not played U2 deathmatches/objectives since MAG released.

Uncharted 2 is the best PS3 game, and I felt like I'd seen too many of the best levels when I was watching previews, so I'm going to go on complete blackout for this one. That's what I did with Reach and Fable3 and it really strengthens the experience when you don't know how the levels play out before you've even played them. The rooftop sequence with the helicopter in Uncharted 2, or the part where you're in the building when it starts to fall over, would have been so much better had I not seen them ahead of time.

Yeah, I agree...it is always tough to not watch stuff due to curiosity...but it really enhances the final experience in my opinion :)

If Elena is in the third game, then it cannot be a prequel -- unless she plays a different part
Emily Rose is working on this game, so guess that's a confirmation that the game or atleast part of the game isn't a prequel. All this speculation about a prequel wouldn't have happened if Sully didn't look like 15 years younger in the trailer.

Yeah ! Yeah ! We'll see how much you succeed at it !

BTW, I have planned that for The Last Guardian ! That is one magic, you just don't want spoiled!

The key difference is, although impressive, I can tell the MGS2 water looks like "computer water" immediately (Based on particle system, but somewhat rigid). The 1:59 water in the U3 trailer has more than splashes since the space is more open. You can also see water flowing forward on the ground at the same time. It's done in a seamless fashion and hides fixed/repetitive system-based behavior rather well, just like real-life water. I suspect the calculations are more complex, and/or there are some human art involved (like God of War III's water). Will have to see it in the real game.

Both seem computer generated to me. About the rigidness, I don't get it.

Both seemed to behave quite realistically. Like I said, the main difference seems to be that UC3 is using a volume for the main body of water while MGS2 used particles only.

Particle effects alone are too "powdery" (Looking near/at the "fringes") ^_^
The corridor in the MGS2 scene may be smaller though.

We thought the dunes earlier are hand painted too.

EDIT: The part where the water slams into the camera is the weakest. But it looks good nonetheless.

They probably are. People seem to be forgetting that Uncharted's textures are all hand painted, which means a silhouette of a painted dune is pretty much the same as a dune geometry with a sand texture painted on. It's unclear what the nature of the dunes are or the sand spray from the top, the spray also potentially being hand drawn spray animated as a particle or particles.

There is no more a clear distinction between hand-drawn art and computer rendered art!

Yes, I don't think we are completely wrong. That's why I suggested may be they have some "hand job" (^_^) in the water scene too. God of War III water is art-driven right ?

Would be interesting to see their workflow.

I'll succeed. It's actually pretty easy to avoid that stuff. I only really look at vids for games I'm unsure of now. Or sports titles, because you can't really ruin the game by watching vids. I'll watch tech demos and the like, just not actual gameplay, especially those recorded demos from E3 etc.
