This is my first true "console luanch". I began gaming pretty late in 1999, and didn't really follow things during current gen launches (DC/PS2/XB/GC), hadn't joined a forum like B3D then. I am really feeling excited about witnessing 360 (and other future console) launches. I am following things very closely this time. Though I'll get my console in probably 2008.

How do you guys feel? Is there anyone who is also witnessing his/her first console launch?

This is my first console launch. But as it stands I'm too busy to focus in on the 360 launch. Have to prepare for a conference trip to Hawaii in December, that and hockey has taken my only free time. :) . Nov 22 will probably come and go for me.

I'm looking forward to it, but moreso because I am taking a weeks vacation at the same time. It will be nice to have the 360 to do some gaming during that time though.

My first launch was the N64. It was awesome, something I'll remember, but I only realised latterly how much I'd overpayed for the thing (I guess a pricecut a few weeks later will do that for you ;)).

I jumped the console train at the first Playstation, bought it near launch.
Didn't really follow the launch closely then, just that much what was in the magazines. Internet was still rare where I lived, I had not seen any forums discussing the consoles then.
PS was my first console, previous platforms had been C64 and Amiga, needed a new gaming platform and because PC's were really too expensive for me then, PS seemed like a good choice.
I remember feeling a bit insecure because I really didn't know if it would succeed, I thought Nintendo's and Sega's could eventually kill the Sony machine, but the amazing 3D graphics draw me in. WipeOut was really the game that made me buy the Playstation.

During PS2 launch I was already a very active console forum follower and I was sure to read every bit of news I could come accross.

PSP and NDS launch I also followed quite actively, though because I ordered my PSP abroad before the official EU launch and after Japan and US launches, I kinda missed the actual launch frenzies. I do like to buy the gear as close to launch as possible, I like being part of the hype :) ... I'm just shallow like that :)
This coming gen is as exciting to me as the PS2 launch, though I really have not much interest in other than PS3 and Revolution.

My first launch was the SNES....man I had to wait long time till grandma bought me one of those...ahhh...happy days.

I still remember sprinting with my buddy to the Post Office to pick up street fighter 2....

I always get a massive headache when I first bring my new console, or any exciting new gear for that matter, home. I'm so hyped that the excitement makes me hyperventilate and gives me a migraine :) So the first experiences have usually been not so good :D
