The Rydermark Thread (TM)

It's a total sham.

I wouldn't be surprised if this is a campaign to show how easily L'Inq can be mislead.

The pictures are composites: examine the edges of the dome, look at the photographic people, notice the entirely inconsistent aliasing, etc.

Good eye, 15 points.

Wow, that pic was so bad a chop that even I could see it right away. Surely Fudo didn't do this himself?

i think we should get together and come up with the official b3d inquirer prank
Problem is, we actually have the expertise (collectively) here to make it look real :)

my reaction as well, yould think if it was someone trying to pull a fast one they'ld spend more than 2 minutes on it ( hmmmm, been reading to many beckham quotes )
the question remains how long afore the inquirer retracts it or even will they?

NVIDIA should sue them, plain and simple, that's not even bad journalism, it's just incompetence. I still don't get why Fuad writes on it.. who knows..

100% Inquirer-style

It took me 1 sec to see that the only difference was that one of the ugly as sin picture had a badly applied filter on only a badly selected part.

Anyone who produced this atrocity, repeatedly blessed by the mighty ugly stick, should be dragged outside and beaten to a pulp.

Anyway, from the get go it smelled like it and now it looks like it.

Quoted...for...truth.

I just got through looking at those shots...honestly...come on. Fuad, buddy, LOOK at the evidence before posting it, perhaps? :p

OMG! Some people are speculating that even the rumoured existence of Rydermark is all part of the hoax. And who broke the original Rydermark story? - the Inquirer. That would be too hilarious if this whole thing was one big campaign to discredit the Inq.

Or just Fuad given the way ATI is/was 'using' him.

That is what I was implying, earlier, when I said "I wouldn't be surprised if this is a campaign to show how easily L'Inq can be mislead."

Fuad stands by his story it seems

<snip>
Anyone who knows any kind of shader programming knows that the shader can mimic any filter from Photoshop. It is as simple as that, and I don't have any idea why should I bother to Photoshop anything or why a developer might bother to so either.

I have enough stories to write, and I don't need to make ones up. And I wouldn't benefit from the practice at all. It is as simple as that.

And I can't see why a developer would bother to do such a thing either. We are talking here about people I have known for close to five years. They never messed me up before, so I stand by my story.

Ok, come on this is getting ridiculous. Has Fuad not seen the obviously unsystematic way in which the images differ? Piece of the freaking pier got hit by the filter for god's sake. How could that possibly be a shader. This is quickly leaving the realm of technical incompetence and gullibility and free falling into the depths of stupidity.

I'm surprised no one has commented on Fuad's speculation at Nvidia's involvement in this debacle.
