Cool and freaky! They look like they're tracking Sackboy. Is that a behaviour that can be attached? Can 'homing baddies' be added?
Edit : I guess (or hope) it won't be long before someone (LlBiPl.net?) posts an extensive guide to the creation mechanisms.
Yeah! They're tracking alright! "Follow" is one of the brain's activities. You can also make it jump at certain intervals too (I put this on one of these creatures but it has a very subtle effect here because of the elastic bands I've used ... )
My original idea was to find out if I could make a floating creature that followed you, but first of all the floating stuff got weighted down by the brain, so I had to hold it up by the stuff that wants to actively float upwards, and then I thought I'd put a counter-weight on it so I could fairly accurately determine the right amount for floating again, but now it wouldn't actually follow me. So I figured I needed to have a wheel attached to it somewhere, and sure enough that did the trick. Resulting in this weird little fellow!
And then of course I copied it a few times in different layers and created an object from it. Fun, I can put that creature everywhere now and it has become scaleable too.
I think just making creatures all by itself is going to be a lot of fun!
I've had the PS Eye attached the whole time but wasn't even aware of it. Didn't do much talking, not sure if that's an open mike by default or if you have to change a setting or something. I'll look into this later.
Good start anyway is to do all the creation tutorials (well, the ones that are offered through the question mark in your pop-it anyway), as that gives you a whole lot of items to play with!
@pat: sure, post it on gaf!
