I just thought about the cockpit view and the animation of the driver, or to be precisely the drivers hands!

I just got flashed by a "serious" problem: when you use manual transition...and shift a gear on your driving wheel: am I right that the animation of the hand going down to the gear shift can only start, right after you have give the input to your controller, resulting in a big delay of the gear shift action on screen - or is there an easy work around to this problem I am overlooking at the moment!?

I believe, just like it was in Prologue, the shifting (animation) is predicted by the rev counter. As it increases and reaching redline, you can see the hand leaving the steering wheel to upshift regardless of your input (and vice-versa for downshifting). Of course, if you short-shift, there will be a delay.

Perhaps one way to sync your input to that on the screen (including when you drive hand-free) is through motion detector- PSEye, for example since head detection is already promised for GT5. I just don't think it's as important.

What are you guys talking about :???: Those videos look great. AI seems little stupid at times as he follows default racing line only. I hope they can improve AI little bit and If they include damage it will be great.

Here is another video I saw in gtplanet.net . Bad quality but nice driving

Also in GDC they were talking briefly about 2009, 2010 games and they mentioned GT5 will release this year

Does anyone have an idea of how much work it would be for them to incorporate MLAA? And how expensive would it be compared to their current AA implementation?

As a small aside, I really like how the trailer subtly shows off the suspension physics @ 00:38 in the new trailer.

Fans have been waiting over two years since Prologue hit PS3 for a full release of GT5 - but Yamauchi has reassured them that the full game's "scale and diversity" is far superior.

"Prologue is really only a prologue," he told CVG sister mag PSM3 this month.

"Though the look and feel of Prologue and the full version will have uniformity, the full version will be totally different in terms of scale and diversity in comparison."

Apparently, Playstation Magazine May issue features GT5 (8 page preview).

Data collected by marketing research agency OTX GamePlan, however, gives a peek into stats you know Sony is taking into careful consideration. According to their latest survey, 33% of people who plan on purchasing GT5 don’t yet own a PlayStation 3 console to play it on.

There's gonna be loads of laughs if the game gets delayed to 2011...we want a release date !!

No, you want a release. Release dates can be broken ;)

Btw, if it slips into 2011 I will contact Vegas to see the odds between who releases first: Forza 4 or GT5. Heck, Forza 5 may be out before GT5 at this rate :p

The stat thing means to indicate that Sony is well aware that GT5 will sell a lot of systems. I think this means another delay simply won't be accepted.

Not Sega's arcade racers, the Burnout series, every Ridge Racer since RRV, Split Second, Full Auto.... It seems pretty standard for arcade racers to run at (or shoot for) 60fps.

Whats your problem? You know just aswell as me that there are plenty of arcade racers that run on 30fps and go for better graphics instead.

Just because a few arcade racers that do run on 60fps, doesn't change the fact that there are plenty that dont.
