How big was GT5P ? (EDIT: 1.7Gb) This demo is only 200Mb or so.
Cars
The Japanese release in December 2007 featured 37 stock cars (plus the uncredited GT-R "Black Mask" returning from the free playable demo) from various Japanese, European and American manufacturers including Nissan, Ferrari and Ford.[34]
Spec II update adds new manufacturers, more stock cars and introduces racing cars, tuners and "Tuned" cars. Total number of playable cars reaches 71.[35]
The North American version of Gran Turismo 5 Prologue brought additional stock and tuned cars, increasing the game's car list to 76 credited cars.[10]
Tracks
GT5P introduces the Daytona International Speedway to the franchise.
Four circuits located in Japan, Europe and North America are included in the original game, plus two fictitious tracks: The High Speed Ring and Eiger/Eiger Nordwand. In the absence of suitable roads in the real-life location around Kleine Scheidegg and the Eiger, the game developers created the track based on actual hiking trail.
Each track is available in two different layouts. London, High Speed Ring and Eiger Nordwand are available in the forward and reverse directions. The Fuji International Speedway is available in both "F1" and "GT" variation; the Daytona International Speedway has a Road Course version; and the Suzuka Circuit has a shorter layout known as the East Course.[36]
Each real-life circuit has an HD video "Course Guide" that documents the location with actual footage and commentary text.
Spec II update[10] adds the Gran Turismo franchise's classic High Speed Ring fictitious circuit (available in both forward and reverse version) which brings the total number of tracks to six (twelve different layouts).[37]

...except that 1.83Gb is the old version. After an update, it's now 2.136Gb. Looks like without a breakdown, we can't be sure whether the size will explain the difference. ^_^
top of GT5 Academy, PD has to add head tracking and damage. The game will likely evolve further. Some are saying GT5 Academy is lower quality than the previous demo build in expos, so may be it is based on a different resource budget. Going to download mine now.
Someone at GAF got an e-mail from Sony emphasizing that this is strictly for the Academy and is not a GT5 demo. PD issued a press release stating that this is strictly for the competition and to showcase the new physics.

Anyone have any high-res shots of the E3/TGS builds?
edit: oh lol, just got an email saying that this is ONLY for the GT Academy and not a demo from GT5 xD it doesn't serve as a preview or review (wow lol, review?) they also say that we should not capture videos from it
Wth ? IIRC the game took like 5GB of my HDD space after install.I just checked my copy. It's 1.83Gb.

I'm gonna do a recheck.

--------EDIT--------
I re-installed the game & it says 5880MB of disk space in use....and this is without any of the updates
If this isn't a demo, then why on earth does it say it's a demo for GT5 when you start it up?
Just like GT5P before it this isn't a track I like. Which again leaves me waiting for the whole game to get to play it the way I like it.
It is a demo which also serves the purpose of supporting GT Academy. I think what the marketing people are trying to say is that the demo may not be indicative of the final experience (They seem to only acknowledge the physics part).
Yeah, it seems much easier to spin out now -- you really have to throttle the gas more compared to Prologue. Or maybe it's just the car, I dunno. I can detect my back end kicking out easier though so it seems a little easier to counter steer. But yeah, overall, it seems harder.Well, I have just tried the demo, and I'll say this: it's hard! Pfew. I'm ranking 118 in the Netherlands, and I'm about 7 seconds off the pace still. But that's not too bad. I don't think I could ever hope to get much closer than at 2 seconds off the best time for either track. Competition here is always incredibly fierce.
I think the point some people are trying to make is as follows: It's a demo of GT5, but not the demo.If this isn't a demo, then why on earth does it say it's a demo for GT5 when you start it up?
