The Full TEKKEN 6 trailer.

From Babelfish I gather the following:

- last year's trailer was target render, this now is in realtime, without any optimisations (everything is rendered, visible or not), and we are still very much learning how to use the Playstation 3, as it is very difficult. Also, you only saw Jin's chest, full screen, so that it could show more detail than you can see in the full game environment.
- 60fps at full HD, which they intend to maintain in the final game
- they will support the new PS3 controller, and have a number of ideas on that, like shaking the controller to escape from a grapple
- release date unknown (it's done when it's done)
- asked if this will be arcade then playstation 3, or directly released on playstation 3. I think he says he doesn't know yet but they are taking into account what the fans want ...

Glad to see they are thinking about using the controller's motion tech. I hope the game looks 100% better than it does now. Because now it looks like teh sucks.

One word for this Tekken trailer: FLAT.

The lighting is absolutely and totally flat. It has self-shadowing, but somehow the game still looks so flat that it could be mistaken for a PS2 game if it weren't for the high polygon counts. Heck, some PS2 games had better lighting that that! They better give this game a nice face-lift, like the earlier Tekken demos on PS2 improved till they looked like TTT (huge difference), or i'll really worry about Namco. Tekken is after all their biggest game on Playstation.
Very true

If they dont fix it I ll be really pissed and I wont be the only one. Even TTT looks better to me than this

I do remember.
The Tekken TAG Tournament trailer was mostly closeups of the characters doing various moves, and was later indeed found in the final game although with slightly different art, but the quality certainly was there.
In the EU (and US?) versions that is, the Japan version was a jaggy mess although using same art.
At least the EU TTT is still one of the best PS2 image quality wise.

This has nothing to do with PS3 Tekken, though the trailer still looks as ugly artwise as when I saw it earlier :)
The point I was trying to make is that give the developers time - just as they awed people with the aftermath of TTT (since the game itself was graphically much better than the trailer), so as they will with T6. ;)

What happened to Namco? Did they loose alot of their key staff to other companies?

I can't understand what's the point? GT4 hd and this Tekken 6 hd, both looks like crap!
The point is Gran Turismoâ„¢ and Tekkenâ„¢ are coming to the PS3.

There will be time to show the actual games later on.

Well for one they merged with Bandai, and you should know Bandai games quality track record.

Amusing. ^_^ I've been wondering what other games would try using... Like Fight Night putting their power moves on a sweep of your arms instead of just a button press. (Or hey, if they're sensitive enough, could you use two controllers and that's IT to box with both your hands? ;) )

Fighting games would appear to be one of the best venues to put "fun little things" in first, to test.

A boxing game might work ok with just the 6 axis gyro control.
Well, the footwork might need to be applied to analog stick(s)

Give me a genre and I will give you good ways of using its features.

Yes, Fight night with two controllers was also in my head, would be an awesome way to play it. I also thought that Sony could release the sensors separately so people could make stuff like gloves and shoes even for games like that.

But even with one controller, there are many things you can do. For instance, you could move your upper body with the tilt and movement features to avoid punches, lean back, forward and so on.

Hopefully namco is starting from scratch whatever they showed last time.
That said, I cant wait to see how it looks whenever they show it, being the tekken fan that I am. :)
Hell, I hope SOMEBODY steps it up! DOA4, Virtua Fighter 6, Tekken 6 - I haven't seen ANY of these 3d fighters do anything next gen yet, whether it be graphics, physics, animations or fight mechanics.
Even Def Jam icons at least tried to move forward in all these areas!

Indeed it looks mighty impressive and the fights are much more realistic and superb to watch but it still resembles VF4.

I think a completely new fighting game built from the beginning with new ideas can become the ideal nexg gen fighting. But VF and Tekken still build and will build on the same path that begun in the 32-bit era since it is risky to make huge changes.

thats what VF is . you cant change VF drasticly , because then.. it woulnd be VF anymore

There was once a spinoff Virtua fighter made by Tecmo... it became Dead or alive (with lots of wobly tits :p )

Well the fighting engine needs to be very similar to the originals or else they just wouldn't play the same and they shouldn't be considered the same games.

Kinda like trying to change Street Fighter's fighting engine into Mortal Kombat's one  imagine!

So, surely Tekken's stiff movements can be made more realistic in order to make it look more realistic, but radically changing the fighting engine is something completely different. Remember when SEGA tried to "innovate" and made a few changes to VF's engine in VF3? People went crazy!:D

I'm sure when the game finally ships it will look great, I don't think that E3 footage is representative of the final product... I think they just basically showed Tekken 5 in high res. Tekken games have always looked atleast average or better than that and I'm sure that trend will continue, Just wait.

Been playing Soul Calibur III a lot of late (having fun making characters and putzing about, and since I'm unable to find people to play AGAINST locally, not actually lamenting the loss of 8-player random team battles :???: ), and it mainly reinforces my lust for the series and a desire to see farking ANY NEW INFORMATION WHATSOEVER about SC4!

Somebody talk to me! Hell, lie to me! Just say something!

*cries*
