And bought Deus Ex GOTY edition too ! And then turned my pc off so that I don't go broke. I had never been to this site before. Games are so cheap and redeemable on steam: its a killer deal !

XIII won't install on my Win 7 64 bit :( ! I remeber it fondly as I had got this game long back when it had released and it didn't work at that time too and I really want it to work now !

The installer continues till halfway and then displays a dialogue box saying "Do you want to remove all save games and files?" and just uninstalls everything again :( ! It doesn't matter whther I say yes or no, it just uninstalls evertything. Compatibilty modes make no difference too. HELP !!!!


@AlStrong: it should let you use Paypal, it has that option ! I used a CC.

WOW! This is what I get from Comodo Secure DNS if I try to activate my copy of Deus Ex :oops:: ! It won't let me go there at all. Is it a known false positive issue ? Even Avast Antivrus asked me to open the Deus Ex exe in a sandbox as it might be potentially unsafe :???: ! Whats going on ?

EDIT:http://forums.whirlpool.net.au/archive/1308484 This seems to solve the problem with XIII. pretty weird solution though, but the installation worked.

No idea mate. I checked my deusex.exe and it's only 63kb (!!!; most of the actual game code is apparantly spread out into separate dll files), not sure if this is of any help to you. If your copy of the game has been infected by something bad you might not see the correct file size anyway, or the file may be overwritten internally by the badness so that the size remains the same...

7Zip reports checksum for data as: 4BC3D630
(This is the GOTY steam version, may differ legitimately of course if you have a different version.)

It might also not be the exe that has been infected, so...hell... I really can't say anything for sure. Delete the game and reinstall? Run a full drive scan with your virus scanner(s) just to be sure too.
 
Wow! Thats wierd ! My deusex.exe is 3.5 mb !

Anyways, i clicked on it now and it activated normally without any issue or warning from either comodo or avast. Funny thing ! I think it might have tried to display some ad or tried to redirect me to some ad website fe.trymedia.com, the last time I tried to activate.
As for the issue with XIII, its a known issue with win7. Will try the workaround later.

@Davros: Thanx Buddy for the help, but it got solved before I saw ur link :D ! Can you tell me how to run the game in 1920X1080? It doesn't support that res, same for Deus Ex !

It's been a while but both are based on the Unreal Engine if I remember correctly. So there should be a *.ini file somewhere that you can edit. Probably in the game directory/bin? Like I said it's been a while.

he he ! Have already installed all of those :cool: except for the High Quality Mod, which I think changes the look of the game a little too much.

BTW, how do you detonate those TNT boxes in the training final mission where you have to go past the mech and found n the first mission too. I mean I placed them down in th epath of the mech and tried shooting them with my pistol when th emech came around, but the pistol seems to have no effect on the TNT ! I found no way to blow them :( ! In the end th emech broke all my arms and legs and I was crawling around and a TNT box blew up somehow killing the mech !

EDIT: BTW< your high Quality Mod link doesn't work. Can you fix it? i would like to check it out !

I don't actually play any of the Deuses - yet anyway, I just have them installed on my harddrive - so I can't help you... Sorry. :(
 
Yeah ! Isee tat exactly and it seems installed al rite. Maybe since I have not really played Vanilla Deus EX before, I am not able to catch the difference by switching renderers. I amnot seeing any huge difference.

HDTP texture differences are easy to spot,but changing renderers got me nothing I could notice.
