Sony VR Headset/Project Morpheus/PlayStation VR

To be fair the PSVR won't be giving "panda eyes" as has been reported with the Oculus so far, as it's not strapped to the face.

I guess the downside is that there's a visual gap between your eyes and the headset. I think @goonergaz mentioned it after he'd used the device.

yeah, altho to be fair it was a rushed thing (setting it up) and the area was really bright making it easy to see the light...so probably the worse case scenario.

It's either pressed against your face... or it's hanging loose. There is no middle ground

There are degrees of 'pressed against your face'. It's entirely plausable that over tightening would cause marks on the face while a less tight setting would reduce or eliminate them without resulting in the headset hanging loose.

Let us know how you get along when yours arrives. Do you get it this month?

The one takeaway that we can have is that the Oculus definitely does cause panda eyes, since it's been reported. Whether or not it's possible to reduce or eliminate them remains to be seen.

It's probably easier to over-tighten the adjustments to make sure the $600 Oculus is secure than it is to find that perfect adjustment on the first go.

Not until July unfortunately. And yeah it certainly happens. It's just questionable as to whether it can be considered a real issue, or possible to mitigate partially or completely via strap adjustment. If you have to have it pressed up against your face like a scuba mask to prevent it falling off, resulting in deep, lasting indents in your skin, then I'd agree that's crap.

Being one of the Kickstarter backers I'll presumably be in the first batch of shipments for the Rift. So maybe a week or so after the March 28th launch? And NDAs should end at launch also (not that there's anything juicy or interesting covered by that).

october release. any awesome game for that date? hopefully none, so everything can be funnelled to PSVR.

and it will be awesome if they have PS+ special bundle at special prices.

Direct feed has volumétric clouds. It's standard driveclub. But VR version looks very good, they even added rear mirrors now.

Right, you can see the difference in the cockpit, the VR version has a different timer :yep2:

I just bought a new PS Move Starter set (camera, move, handstrap, demo disc) for... 12 euro :p
This completes my PS VR preliminary kit: PS4 camera, 2 DS4, 2 Move controllers, Navigational controller (you never know!), Sharpshooter attachment as well as the Move Charging station.

@ clukos: great find, although the direct feed is not from Driveclub VR; you can tell by the steady camera, and interface as the social screen doesn't show the interface.

Around 8:37 with the rapid eye movement; you can see reprojection artefacts as well as ghosting artefacts, maybe .gif that? Not only for the PSVR haters, but also to study it

It could be the offscreen effect but drive club still looks amazing. I am willing to bet GTVR could surpass even DCVR. VR actually benefits GT, as 5 and 6 sometimes sacrificed framerate for what are arguably the best graphics in a racing game on that generation of hardware, even still competing today. With the no drop below 60 requirement for VR, the main game will probably have locked 60 as a baseline as well.
Btw Yamaguchi probably loves VR as the head tracking in GT5 is to achieve the same goal.
