Sony Vita Games Thread

That's the first thing I always check for after an update and every time I am disappointed  Why they can't enable such a basic and useful feature I don't know. It's a shame no-one has created one for the PS Studio. If I had any free time I'd look into myself!

I agree on this one. Should have been included by default, even if it drains the battery. Now though I feel they are probably focussing on a huge update aroundPS4s launch.

Got my copy of Dragon's Crown today. Seems pretty sweet so far. I was especially surprised about the kick-ass art book that came with it. Didn't expect that at all. Must've been an Amazon pre-order bonus or something.

I bought Vita two days ago, and today I started playing Guacamelee. Its awesome.

However, I need to get myself grip for Vita.

Played the Killzone beta, is looking really good so far ... See dedicated thread for more impressions.

Jak and Daxter trilogy free on EU+

Spelunky got a discount too.

Yes, it's even Cross Buy, so if you buy the Vita version (like I did this afternoon) you also get the PS3 version. I've heard the Vita experiences some slowdown in the snow levels (what played so far though was more than fine, the quick gameplay benefitting greatly again from the extremely low lag of the OLED screen) and doesn't have the daily challenge though. But on the other hand, you can play co-op with the Vita as the cross-controller, where the players don't have to stay on the same screen, as the Vita player can basically keep his own view of the action - pretty cool.

Rayman Legends on Vita is looking good. Although some people are complaining that the Invasion levels are missing apparently, which some really like. In return you get the exclusive Murphy levels that only the Wii U version has also. Some people also complain the game is too easy.

I think I'll probably stick to/start with the Vita version regardless. And that it is easier (if true) is only good for my son.

EDIT: by the way, Spelunky is good, and cruel. It takes some getting used to! it's a bit of a Demon's Soul of platforming, except that the gameplay is pin-point precise razor sharp perfect for LBP style platforming.

But to give an example, dying is not only easy, but will bring you right back to the start. All the way to the start. E.g. die in level 1-4, then you're set back to 1-1. Only after reaching 1-5 several times and performing a certain type of task, will you even get a portal that allows you to skip to 1-5 from the start. Crazy. But, since everything is randomised and no playthrough is the same, it still works fine.

After all the praise I bought Spelunky as well. And I'm afraid I just don't get the appeal at all. It looks bland as hell. It doesn't sound good. And there's no meaningful progression whatsoever. Sure, the mechanics are rather tight, but that's pretty much par for the course in the genre.
Bring on Rayman Legends.
