+ The rumour last year where Bungie said "we'll stay Independant"It's a good acquisition, interesting that MS didn't bite on it.
Guess Sony made a better Deal.
Ah nvm saw Brit's post.

Well, Sony has media + they actually says that games will stay multiplatform. MS would certainly lock them behind Game Pass.+ The rumour last year where Bungie said "we'll stay Independant"

possibly.I wonder if this deal happened because MS went after Activision and left the talks while Sony grabbed Bungie. Maybe Sony and Microsoft act in unison to fend off other big tech giants. Would be hilarious though considering console wars.
Destiny's Cut editionCan’t wait for the Destiny 1+2 Remastered Collection Platinum Edition.
D1 >>> D2Jokes aside. If we go by hours played, then Destiny 1&2 are my most played games since the PS4 days. And D2 is my most played game on PS5 (according to the wrap up thingy).
So I should be happy about this? But just the thought of playing Destiny again - haven’t touched it in months - gives me anxiety.
With Epic I think their stake has more to do with the engine than it has to do with the games Epic produces.Sony already owns part of EPIC https://www.polygon.com/22381613/ep...e-ownership-funding-round-metaverse-statement
So I dunno what they would have to do there
LIke I said in regards to MS they have a bunch of W/CRPGs , Racers, Shooters and strategy games. They are lacking the 3rd person adventure games imo. It matches up with what i've heard about previous and current acquisition attempts
Also $3.6 Billion...I mean...wow.....They only have Destiny and havent produced much of new IP's. So I wonder whats the long term plan. There must be something they saw in the company. What is the value and the expected profits I m really curiousBut why? What does bungie bring to the table? Now if MS did not buy acti and bethesda, would people care about this? I mean they are supposedly still going to release multiplatform titles..
One thing is for sure, Sony simply can’t afford to make bad purchases so if they see the value in this, then I tend to believe that there’s a lot to gain from this. Also $3.5 Billion...I mean...wow.....They only have Destiny and havent produced much of new IP's. Surely. What is it remains the question. The company will continue to operate as normal. They are just part of SIE. Thats the only differenceOne thing is for sure, Sony simply can’t afford to make bad purchases so if they see the value in this, then I tend to believe that there’s a lot to gain from this.

I have a funny story with @BRiT where we played Back4Blood together on Xbox. Back4Blood forces an open mic on all players, you have to do some work arounds like muting the mic so you don't get double voice between party and game. Anyway, long story short, we were joking about some stuff and the topic of Tom Hanks being stuck on a deserted island came up. And I was like, what is that movie name. And Brit responded with Cast Away, and whatever, it was a long running convo we all laughed about.
Behold, a day later? or the next day, the advertisements on Xbox dashboard was "Cast Away", and I assure you they ain't ever pay for ad space for such an old movie. So it really goes to show where games could be headed in the future in terms of mining player data.
I don't think it was a panic buy and we know from the rumors that MS was interested but when ATVI option happened, they left the talks.Sony is panic buying. Im not sure it was a good get though. MS spent a little over half to get tons of other devs and ip.
