I've finally found some people playing Project Gotham Racing 3 on the debug version of Xbox Live, and captured these two videos using the excellent Gotham TV system. I think I will spend a lot of time watching great players driving around these cities :)

The sound is so awesome and the cockpit view:oops:

Damn, I love watching PGR3 movies.

I wanna see a New York race.

Impressed by how tight the racing was too.

Seemed like some slowdowns when multiple cars were in view.

The final PGR3 looks fully unimpressed, compare this:

and now:

PGr3 is not a "State of the art" racer and is not nextgen,it runs only with 30 Frames/s and has no FF-Wheel support ,on Pal TV looks like an Xbox1 game, and the trackdesign
are not revolutionary.I'm disappointed.

State of the art racers are:

SCUD RACE
F355
GT4

So what do you think about quality and promise??

They are great movies, also have you seen his Photo mode pictures they also look great. And gamepowder, you are obviously worrying about PGR3 way too much.

well, firstly, you've compared a shot from a dynamic angle in a well lit environment with a shot from behind the car (and what is possibly one of the least interesting and unimpressive screenshots i have seen for this game) in a low light environment. Secondly you've compared it to a bunch of 480i screenshots.

Congratulations.

how about we compare like for like? here are some shots from the final build of the game, this time from the same dynamic camera angles as that one you flaunt originally:

you have an agenda against this game or something? i've seen this exact same post copied and pasted on another forum

The picture you have postet are from the photomode not ingame.

Gamepower, the pictures in Phto mode are from "in game" you can add post effects such as motion blur depth of field and lighting, but the models are as "in game" you cannoy up the resolution or poly count.

First video from OP shows texture popups at:
  • 0:21
  • 2:27 (the same building as 0:21)
  • 2:48
  • 3:54 (the first camera shot of this building a lap earier at 2:43 didn't have the popup)
Couldn't find any in the second vid.

I have to say, that London circuit follows an impossible route. There's a big flight of stairs twixt the Mall and Waterloo Place (e.g. 1:35)! right where I've put the red circle:

Looks like we'l be seeing x-box 1's problem on 360. All the power given to Devs that know jack about how to create realistic lighting

Different reviews and comments by forumers have left me wondering whether the framerate [in hi-res mode] in PGR3 is:

-locked at 30 fps without dips
-a bit above 30 with drops, but never below 30
-30 fps on average with drops below that sometimes.

Obviously I would be dissappointed if the third possibility is the case. Does anyone know or care to guess based on the media released?

are you seriously trying to compare those two pics?

Not Really, I tell you what you can argue with me over these two

PGR2 :

PGR3:

Dont care if PGR3 is runnin low res, a so called NEXT GEN machine should still show ALOT moe of an improvement even on an SD.tv.

I played some at a 360 demo event at a local game shop and the framerate seemed solid to me. One of the friends I went with said it looked like it was a bit choppy on some of the turns, but I'm usually more sensitive to low framerate than he is so I can't help but wonder if he was seeing things.

what do you want? the backgrounds are more realistic, the colours more vibrant, the car models are smoother, the lighting is better, motion blur is evident, there are less jaggies.... and this is from a still screenshot.

If you compare video of the two there is no comparison... Effects like HDR and the amount of detail such as dirt on the windscreens from the interior view catching the sun, motion blur, amazing real time reflections etc add up to make pgr3 look much better. And if you compare video of the two with pgr3 running at it's full potential (ie in HD) then there is absolutely no comparison. And at the end of the day you don't play screenshots.

Will the average consumer see those things???? NO..they'll just see a game that looks the same as the old one.

last i checked the average consumer will believe what they are told....

besides, why do you care about the average consumer? the "average" consumer couldn't tell the difference between ps1 and dreamcast.
