Some new details, images and conceptual art of Heavenly Sword

I suspect so, but honestly I don't know, we have a finite amount of time to do each level special fx... Now its likely that snow trails are important enough to get some time but its always possible they won't.
Its as simple as that really, lots of 'fine touches' to do, and a finite time to ship... How they are prioritised is part of the fun of shipping...

Oh okay thanks for answering.

If you guys have time, just think about what I said. After seeing Lost Planet and the way the snow sounds crunching and the look of the foot going in the snow it plays a decent part of the immerison.

The problem with asking game related things, is that Sony marketting have a schedule about what is released when and to be honest I don't know exactly what i'm allowed to say, so its safest just to say nothing...

The E3 press (which I am familar with cos I had to talk to journalists) was essentially that the game is a story based non-arena combat game.

Oh, sorry, i really didnt know that all the game related info was under NDA, even genre specifics. Thanks for the answer.

Now regarding the comparisons. I really think that the 1080p screens look better, even though those screens lack AA, the motion blur perfectly hides the jaggies, compared with the 720p screens with 4xAA.

Regarding the snow effects, i really agree with the other users. Even though it wont make or brake your game in the public eyes, it would make the game look too fake if you just walk over the snow, and you dont even leave trails, so please add that detail. Even though you dont really notice it while playing, ironically, you instantly notices it if it is lacking it.

PS: Keep the good job guys, since your game is my reason to get a ps3 at launch

Looks like new Heavenly Sword info is going to be released later this day:

SCEA's Press Site has a listing added late yesterday/this morning:
Heavenly Sword - Developer Q&A (doc)
But their uploaded file appears to be missing or broken. The updated fact sheet was there though.

Can you link me to the SCEA Press site that has this information?

An updated fact sheet for Ninja Theory's intense next-gen "godess of war". A Developer Q&A should be ready to go later in the day, so check back in a bit.

Maybe it will have "interesting" mini-game like God of War. I do not think so but it will be funny, no?

But although people say "godess of war" I do not think this is like God of War. God of War i think is more like fighting monsters and heavenly sword I think is fighting human people. Maybe HS has monsters too. I do not know. But I will like to play this.

It's quite an empty interview - mostly PR. HS is an interactive movie, you can fight bosses, groups and armies, and they're doing things no-one else has even thought about doing having started 3 years ago. All the answers seem to be pretty much one or other or somewhere in between those points. And no new screenshots either :(

Much respect

You know - after looking at the initial screenshots last year at e3 and sporadic updates since then, my impression of this game was "pretty - but no substance". After reading up on it more in preview spreads in magazines over the past few months I'd have to say I was completely wrong about this game and is one of the few games I'll be tempted to rent a ps3 for to play when it comes out.

Certainly purchase worthy if you're in the ps3 camp and I hope it gets the advertising it deserves! Btw I'm glad the game isn't coming out on pc as frankly I don't think the pc would do this game justice. (not to start a pc vs console flame but pc games generally aren't as refined as the best console games and have hicups and issues related to tailoring a game to 50 different possible configurations).

Congrats on whats looking to be a great game guys and I look forward to your future gaming efforts!

Wow, huge facelift job!
Can the canned action sequence be interrupted by an enemy projectile or something like that, or are there other camera angles? No matter how cool the fatality move is, watching it 100 times with the same arrangement is not very fun.

the bloom needs to be turned down a notch or 30.
at least give an option in game to choose how much bloom is desired, at the moment its washing out a lot of detail ( coupled with the hdr though i believe this is intentional )

this is based off seeing the screenshots, i believe though this is one game that'll look much nicer in motion

Yeah in motion it's nowhere near as bad.

And nAo and DeanoC I truly think that the AA in this game is good enough. Please don't waste your time making it better. Try to spend some time adding a little bit of motion blur.

And is it true that most of the post processing stuff like motion blur is added once a development team reaches the beta stage? Rumor has it that, that's what's happening with Resistence. Insomnianc is supposly waiting to reach beta before they add in some post processing effects.

Will the samething be happening with Heavenly Sword?

Its actually pretty crazy how much the difference is between the old e3-05 build and the e3-06 demo are. Everything has changed pretty much. The textures, the hair, the actual model's polygons, the background looks different, the bad guys look different, the lighting, the shadows. It's not just a matter of a few change in effects, the overall look of it a bit different. And I must say for the better.

The game looks great!
