So, do we know anything about RV670 yet?

G80 also commanded a HUGE price premium over R600, outsold R600 (atleast) by more than 5x ..

So yeah, apples to oranges.

8800 GTS 320MB.
Any worthy competition from R600 in that front ? None (and both the G80 core and the NVIO were still there...).

Please do count about 6 months time G80 came out to the shaft before the R600 too ;)

At least more than 3 months late of the R600 would help NV gathering more G80 chips to supply as GTX, GTS and Ultra in comparison to the R600...

You do know that it wasnt a fully functional core and thus sold at a much lower price ..

As for worth competition from R600, 2900GT. 240SPs and 256-bit. It was late, just like 2900XT was late.

It was a cut down G80 core that had less than half the ram(slower ram too) than the GTX. They also sold around $300. Sounds about right to me.

I haven't really been keeping up with this thread so sorry if it was covered in a previous post but was anything added to the ROPs to address the AA performance issues that R600 was having or has that gone unchanged in RV670?

Are you sure they brought them in advance by two months ?
What tells you they weren't planing to release a relatively cheap card in time for the holiday season right from the start, as they did ?
All the rumours pointed towards January. You can deny it all you want, I wouldn't expect anything less from you.

Are you sure NVidia's going to have half a million G92s ready before Christmas? You seem awful sure about this, just like a few others round here.

It's two weeks since launch of G92 and there's no stock. If G92 launched today it would be sold out and would have sold 1/10th of the availability that we're seeing for RV670.

Jawed

Stock for the rv670 we won't know till the 19th. Also the gt has been going in and out of stock for the past weeks, Newegg got a batch yesterday afternoon and was out of stock by this morning. They are selling very fast. Thats just one store, if you look back at the 7900 launch it is very similiar.

we won't know after the first few days. As I said before, Newegg went through 50 cards of the gt in a few hours 2 weeks after its launch, within 3 days the entire stock of 40k cards for the gt were sold off guess what thats just impluse buyers. So far no one else other then OcUK is selling the cards, and we all know how Gibbo likes to fluff stuff up come on remember all those launches he predicted numbers for where he stated he knew the performance of certain cards.....

Presumably you'll believe him when the GTs return to stock?

Also North America is 5-6x larger than the UK, so 50 GTs in the US is like 8 cards here - not impressive, particularly when the product is back-ordered

I dont' believe him, I have a good understanding of Newegg stock, thats about it.

50 cards every 3 days or so, and Newegg is much larger then OCUK and they don't have any HD3xxx cards or they are already sold out, because there are 3 listed and not in stock, is Gibbo more favorable to sell things over Newegg? Where is he getting his cards from the back of a truck? You your self said it with that 5-6 times the volume.

Wow! In-stock and at MSRP at Newegg, no less.

Best launch ever.

ah so the 3850's are in stock, must have happened recently, 40 and 47 of each , lets see how fast they sell. lets wait an hour and see if Gibbo is telling the truth.

 you're worse than I am

Been up for a while actully. Almost 2 hours. I checked Dimonds HD 3850 stock when Newegg first posted it. Was at 99* now is at 37. As I finish posting this messege, they may very well be OOS.

Clearly you're lying. Everyone knows no one buys anything other than Nvidia cards.

I say these cards are being purchased by AMD employees, to try to spur demand.
