Well Sir, my numbers at least mean something.
do you know that this IS the right answer but in system with 13 as base instead of 10?
The INQUIRER said:Performance-wise, ATI is now confirming that 3870 will be faster than 2900XT http://www.theinquirer.net/gb/inquirer/news/2007/11/09/chileans-leak-hd3800
Not without context.
3870 has 72GB/s bandwidth, so I don't know what you could be referring to in context of this thread.
Does anybody know if the AA performance problems were resolved?
ATI would fix it if that was indeed the case....
ah k, I wonder what the deal is with R6XX AA then. I was under the impression is was some form of hardware bug as many people have mentioned that a shader resolve technically shouldn't impact performance to the degree we're seeing but you'd think ATI would fix it if that was indeed the case....
yeah after reading this thread it seems it's not a hardware bug after all and something to do with the fundamental architecture or drivers as you point out. However I personally wouldn't pin it on drivers simply because I've never seen drivers make that much of a difference for any architecture. Performance problems such as these almost always point to a flawed design.
