So, do we know anything about RV670 yet?

I hope that "Q1 2008" means early January rather than late April. It's about time AMD got off their backsides and started executing on time and with compelling products.

I would think that too, because of sample schedule:

... and late Q1 would be deadly, because there could be 55nm G92 already out. ;)

Do you have a source for that? The lack of information on NVIDIA's process strategy beyond G92/G98 is a bit annoying...

And Jen-Hsun doesn't help things there, either! Every CC when he's asked what process they're working on, he says ridiculous things that only serve to prove his decisions are made well in advance. Just after G71, for example, he claimed most of their next designs would be 65nm. Errr!

Just a guess, because 55nm looks to be near to deliver good production-results.
And why should NV let out this simple die-shrink? A good chance to refresh some products with cheaper GPUs and higher clocks in spring and to reduce further power-consumption for the mobile parts, which refresh-time is usual in this time.

Sure it is also a question about capacities, because AMD wants to produce 3-4 GPUs @55nm.

Weird slide, hd2900pro stand in enhusiast segment, and the sucessor hd2950pro in the performance segment.

How do you mean weird? Only thing between 2900 Pro and XT is the memory bus and clocks, for all we know 2950 Pro might have less stream processors or what ever they call them nowadays

CJhint that rv670 have 320SPU as the r600, rv670 based cards is the successor of the hd2900pro, like x1900gt/x1900gt rev2->x1950pro.

Note, X1900GT > X1950 Pro, not X1900 Pro > X1950 Pro

Note, there was no x1900pro.

I think they changed the GT (cut-down high-end chip) to be synonymos with PRO (refresh chips built specifically to the spec of earlier butchered "GT" chips) and hence GT was dropped in favor of PRO.

With "only" 825MHz it should be 320sp/16tmus, to be competitive imo.
And I heard something about the arithmetical output rate, which indicates the 320sp. ;)

ATi RV670 XT and RV670 Pro at year end

This news have the same infos CJ hinted weeks ago ;)

But more interessting is, that 2950XT will be based on RV670, so R680 should be out of the race...

How can this be named 2950 XT with a 256-bit memory interface? Not exactly a step forward there... The slight GPU clock bump and DX10.1 support aren't enough to justify a higher name than 2900, IMHO. Besides, what the heck would they call R680 then? HD 3x00? Perhaps RV670 will be named 2700 or even 2800.

I can tell you that the projected performance of the RV670 is.... comparable to R600... At least that's what I've been told. And various sources have now also confirmed that R600 has reached it's EOL.... Yes, you read that right... End of lifetime for the R600. So there has got to be some replacement in the high end.
