We can also confirm that new versions of the Sixaxis controller are quietly replacing the original controllers launched with the console.
What does this mean? That current PS3's have the new controllers?! Will one day, Sony turn on the motors to everyone's amazement, and a load of older customers chagrin?
i would wait for the rumble sixaxis.
Oops , sorry ...
Immersion's new next-gen vibration technology is not like known rumble technologies ;djskribbles said:i honestly don't really care for rumble either, but it would be nice to have.
[ http://www.immersion.com/gaming/video_pc/next-gen/index.php ] ..."...I personally experienced Immersion's new rumbling technology yesterday, and I have to say that it's a major, major step in the right direction..."
“You’re probably asking yourself, “How can rumble be any better?†Fortunately for us, Immersion has shown us how. They have convinced us next-generation rumble is real and ready today.. . . The realism and impressiveness created by Immersion’s new TouchSense technology is unlike anything you’ll ever feel. In fact, you have probably never even imagined how precise and advanced rumble can be.â€
Buy it tomorrow and enjoy it until if/wghen te new rumble controllers are premiered. Then buy one of em and keep the rumble-less as a spare or have a friend use it when you co-op or such
Peace.

The Buzz: Recently released development package points to yes.
Speaking to an insider, Pro-G has learned that Sony is now supporting rumble for its Sixaxis controller as revealed in the latest System Development Kit (SDK) sent to developers on Thursday.
they better not abandon the tilt-sensing technology!GameSpot said:Bogus or not bogus?: Not bogus that a rumble-enabled Dual Shock 3 is coming. GameSpot has learned from a source close to Sony that the company is definitely working on a force-feedback-equipped controller for release in the "coming months." However, as of press time, Sony higher-ups were still apparently debating whether or not to unveil the device at TGS--though a less appropriate venue doesn't spring to mind. It was also unclear if the Dual Shock 3 would have the Sixaxis' tilt-sensing technology, or whether the functionality had been abandoned altogether.
