you know what? I still have a feeling that they will not make a global launch. closest thing I can imagine is releasing in Japan and NA. after a few months, in Europe.Powderkeg said:I don't think Sony wanted to do a simultaneous launch at all, but the delays forced them into it.
...And of course Nintendo - not being wise of many previous launches in the past - would wait until the very last minute to start dealing with these issues...Legend said:and multi-language support is another thing to take care of with a European release. there are other, more chalenging, factors like different laws, taxes, requirements, etc.
There are two ways you can interpret what he's saying, and both probably equally valid:Iwata said:"We don't think it's necessary to do the simultaneous worldwide launch simply because others are doing this."
Legend said:I say launching in one region is the smart thing to do. you can ramp up sales faster by having less shortages and other obstacles to worry about. if it was for me, I wouldn't let PS3 have a WW launch either.
Psychogenics said:Thats Dumb....I call BS its just that they don't have the resources that Sony and MS has so they say that they will not follow but its sounds to me like they won't be able too in either case so they'll most likely launch in japan where Nintendo R can sell fast.
They could launch in Japan first and its not really going to make a difference to the reaction of the market or reception by NA gamers, unless theres a very large gulf in release dates. Realistically revolution will have to sell itself pretty damned hard with good software to be 'ate up' in any market. The hardware sure won't be selling itself as X360 did and PS3 will. Although I think each consoles launch is going to be great this generation, so it probably wont be an issue.Ooh-videogames said:The states is the largest gaming market, Japanese gamers are more than likely going to eat up Rev consoles/software whether or not the console is released there first or second to the states.
