Sega's E3 Lineup & commentary

Meh, I disagree, I hate voice-only; they disabled text chat altogether for the game. Now, of course, the lack of an easily-attainable GCN keyboard is still pretty aggravating, but still - voice only is annoying. Especially in lobbies. Grr

Then get the official Xbox USB-XB adapter for a keyboard, something like $6.95.

I was under the impression that text chat was DISABLED for PSO Xbox.

Actually, no. XB's sticks have good grip due to having concave tips, but other than that they suck. Their range is microscopic compared to DS or N's sticks. And the inclusion of triggers? Xbox's controller has fewer triggers than GCN and PS2's controllers. What's your point?

Guess this is one of those 'can't change opinions over the net' types of things. XB sticks > PS2 sticks > GC stick(s), imo ofcourse. And the PS2 and GC dont have triggers, they have shoulder buttons - there's a pretty noticable difference, especially when playing a racer or shooter.

Funny, my rankings are exactly the reverse of yours. :) The Xbox's sticks hit 100% way too quickly; their circular openings are too small.

I love GC's though; their only problem is the lack of a 'click'. Well... the primary stick, anyway. The C knob takes some getting used to - it should have a larger top.

Sega private show 13th may
supposedly will show a new Virtual On (Arcade i think) maybe they will use Chihiro, though it could go to Triforce (do they make games for N2 still?)

and Sega will update the list of classic remakes for PS2 and Xbox soon
(perhaps this week?)

Mechs are my soft spot, especially if they have cool, innovative designs.
Did you ever collect any of the Virtual ON figures from the toy capsule machines in Shenmue II? Getting to rotate, zoom in, and examine those slick designs was a highlight (along with other, nostalgia-laced delights like getting to examine Space Harrier character model figures and such).

Mechs are my soft spot, especially if they have cool, innovative designs. That was actually my main reason to get into VO and later MGS and ZOE series.

That'd be the work of Kajime Katoki, renowned designer of a good chunk of the Gundam designs.. if interested, you should look up his work on 0083 Stardust Memories, Gundam Sentinel, and some of his redesigns (Zeta Gundam, RX78 [blech], etc).

Well, whatever.

Basically a thread of people talking about PSO with a keyboard on Xbox, a guy even pasted his recepit from the online Xbox store (the adapter is actually free for owners of XB PSO, but theres a $6.95 shipping charge).

This was all over the news sites a few weeks back, were you under a rock? :p

i already paid for mine:

Judging from my last couple posts and from peoples' reactions to me today I think I'm at the onset of PMS. I hate this. I think I'll just leave for tonight and make a mental note to go over my posts for the next few days...

tag take the night off and go see idenity . Reall good movie . Bring a date , so when he gets scared he can cuddle with ya .

Wait a sec... GC has two analog triggers with click at the end.

DS2 has analog shoulder buttons which are not sticks, but do register various degrees of pressure.

He's the guy who designed VO mechs? (I assume it's VO since ZOE and MGS mechs were designed by Yoji Shinkawa) That's great, I've seen a lot of his Gundam work.

Sadly, no :( All I ever got from those machines were the most generic figurines, that I completely forgot what they were :\

Ah. Well... Ryo's inventory probably provides the best representation and opportunity to see how impressive the designs really are if you ever get the chance to play again.

The capsule toy machines are all visibly marked with the set of figures they dispense. I remember one of the Virtual ON dispensers being at the end of a narrow alley on the outside of one of the many pawn shops located in the Wise Man's Qtr.

There's also Sonic, NiGHTS, Virtua Fighter, and Panzer Dragoon figures to be had (in other machines, of course).

Eh, I've logged in quite a bit of time with the GC controller, and I'd call them buttons, not triggers ;) But that's just me!

Yep, atleast thats what I read on the various Gundam boards out there.. might just be Marz, not sure exactly. His stuff is pretty good, but a little long in the legs for me... Fujita's my favourite (Hyaki-Shiki, Zeta, Mark II) :D I still plan to get VOMarz though, regardless!

I'd KILL for a ZoE2 resin kit of Anubis (or maybe Jehuty), but no one's bothered to put one out yet, not even sketchy HK bootleggers =/

wow some mech fans in here

yeah Shinkawa design in ZOE2 totally kick ass, even more than in ZOE1

some of the Gundam (later models) are pretty good too, but its Gundam, and for some reason i don't really care about it anymore (esp. when u have been seeing Gundam since chidhood)

and for that reason the mech design in Rahxephon seems like a fresh breath of air
Arhento Soma is quite okay too (both have some assymmetrical designs)

Five Star Stories mechas totally rock too IMO (picturing medieval style battle, but with giants armor)

but practical mech designs would still go to Shirow i guess

The GC control has two triggers, its not a matter of your opinion or what you want to call them, its simply an unquestionable fact.

Well thats the beauty of the internet, all you people with button/click/trigger-like-aparatus/things are allowed to express your opinions over the proper naming convention of the design!
