The ATI spec sheets have appeared on a Chinese site with an extra Roadmap slide. They have a different date on them compared to the previous lot

but only by two days!!

Neither date is accurate; the presentation is actually pretty old. Looks just like "Date Opened by Mr. Leaker Person in PowerPoint" to me. :)

Well, it appears that it ATi are aiming for July or August if I read this correct:

ATI demonstrated the clear leadership of its core graphics processor technology when John Carmack, creator of the highly successful Doom(TM) video game, chose ATI's as-yet-unveiled next generation graphics processor to launch the eagerly anticipated new version, Doom III(TM), at E3 Expo. Said Carmack: "The new ATI card was clearly superior ... in every test we ran, ATI was faster." Doom III won "Best of Show" for PC games at E3, running on ATI's new hardware, which will be launched in the fiscal fourth quarter.

Thats from their fiscal third quarter when ened at the end of May.

Mid-August would be a year from the 8500 launch, that sounds like as good a time as any. Close to the release of DX9, a few months ahead of the NV30, and plenty of time to work on the drivers between now and then.

I posted this at Rage3D, but I think some people still need to hear it...

Guys, just to give you an indicator of EXACTLY HOW FRICKIN' OLD THOSE SLIDES ARE, here's a "preview" of R200 which contains all the information on them as well a couple of screen grabs (the 8500 was officially announced on August 14th, 2001, BTW)...

The title is "New Solutions from ATI (R200 family)", LOL. Now stop reading into them!!! :D

Seriously. I mean, the word "comprehensive" went out of style, like, six months ago. Ya dig? :D
