Rumor: PSP2 will have touch controls on its back.

So, basically, the next Sony portable gaming device is nothing more than an Android tablet with presumably high spec'd hardware and software presumably locked to Sony branded tablets? Assuming that information on that site is correct that is.

Looks like i fell for it. It was actually quite hard to expect Sony to get rid of the name PSP, considering how expensive is to build a brand name.

It looks like Apple is also researching on similar technologies:
http://gizmodo.com/5648949/another-apple-patent-to-identify-users-automatically

Apple seems obsessed with researching methods to identify users of iPhones, iPads and other iOS devices. The last effort is a patent that describes a device with sensors capable of figuring out the user's hand shape and adjusting the device's settings and buttons based on the user's profile. The sensors would be placed on the back surface of the gadget. According to the general idea of the patent, the sensors could be used to create button areas under each finger, letting you hold the device whatever way you desire—right hand or left, both, or death grip.
