Rogue Galaxy (new game by level5) info + trailer + pics

Agreed, but to me DQVIII is not really a Level5 game, since they presumably had to follow stringent specifications regarding gameplay etc. when developing (implementing?) it.

[Edit] Additionally, they probably worked on DQ8 concurrently with this game, since they state in some interview that RG has been in development for nearly 3 years.

DQVIII looks great though, but with Rogue Galaxy we get an original story (instead of DQ, where they will probably stay true to the past games). I'm looking forward to Dragon Quest VIII, Final Fantasy XII (looking to be a GREAT game, check out how the Judges look like) and because of this thread...Rogue Galaxy.

I'll inquire with L5 regarding my monetary compensation ASAP ;)
And don't get my wrong, I'm also looking forward to DQ8, I just believe that Rogue Galaxy will be closer to the level 5 "style" established by their previous games. AND IT HAS FLYING PIRATES!!!

So if Sony doesn't own them, does Sony help fund their projects that they publish? Do they cough up a few million to help L5 make the game?:?:

If the game is produced or co produced by SCEI, then yes, SCEI does fund the project.

This looks like it definitely will be in the style of Level 5's other games. Seeing the way the characters move and attack immediately reminded me of Dark Cloud 2.

This game looks like it's going to be a winner. If they manage to take all the gameplay mechanics that made Dark Cloud 2 so freaking addictive, and add 3-character parties and a lot more plot and character development, then I'm sold. I will most likely buy this the day it comes out.

That's true. Square Enix basically layed out everything, and then left Level 5 in charge of developing the game so I doubt Level 5 had much influence.

This game sounds great though. Character design is great, although, the characters themselves remind me a bit of Skies of Arcadia.

Some new screenshots at RPGamer. Nice!

This game's trailer was one of the first things i case studied and recreated the look of using various hacks at that time which led to UTV getting more projects and me getting cemented in my career back then.
I had been waiting since then to play it and never could find it for the ps2 here in india. It never was brought to the ps3 and now finally i bought it off PSN this weekend and am playing it ! I can almost cry at how long it took for me to play it !!!!
Just played the first boss battle and it already has that feeeeeel I like about adventure stories, that Indiana Jones happy charm with a touch of danger! I am gonna sell off FFXV now so that i can play this without disturbance !

Finally  ! I know i am almost 11-12 years late but how was your time with it? Does anyone fondly remember this or is this a generic jrpg?
Edit: holy shit the opening titles rolled and boy Treasure Planet !!!! :D
