I'll try and get some tonight...however, Crush is not in his best form. He may have some eye infection as he has some "wetness" around them...being a "farm kitty", he hasn't had any vet visits yet. ;) We're getting him checked out later this week.

Jack (our Son) has been talking about pets for a while, and we pretty much knew we were going to get a kitty or two at some point. (We don't have the time to care for a dog), and when we saw Jack (literaly) carry the kitty around for a day saying thing like "he loves me!", and the kitten putting up with it...we just had to take him.

This may be a touchy subject for real cat enthusiasts, but we're also probably going to go the "declaw and keep him inside" route. I don't like the idea of declawing...but also don't like the idea of shredding the leather couch, loveseat, and chair either. Since Sara and I both work, we're just not around enough to try to properly "train him" to not shred 'em to bits. And we'd prefer he has full reign over the house rather than keep him in the basement level.

We're also likely to get him a companion real soon. ;)

Both my kitties had their front claws removed and they were 'fixed' also as they're inside cats, so you won't here any bitching from me. ;)

I think it's a horrible, horrible thing to do. Just imagine having the tips of your fingers cut off! Cats don't just use their claws to scratch, but they also use them to grab things. Even when they are running fast they have to use their claws to dig in and get more traction.

however, considering the alternative of keeping that cat outside to be rained and snowed on, and get chewed up by mean, smelly ol' dogs... I think it's a reasonable sacrifice.

longest distance I and my sister did travel with parents on car was 1100 kilometers. (from south east finland to mid lapland.) Car was 1987 Corolla (euro spec.) and it was winter time, so with 3-4 longer (eat or coffee) stops it took around 14 hours.

I'd say it is possible, but it depends so much about the kids how used to they are sitting in car. we were pretty used to long distance drives because we used to visit pretty often in lapland during holidays.

(heck, I have been traveling in Mini 1000 from Savitaipale (around 80 km from russian frontier, near to lake Saimaa) to Trömså in Northern Norway in just 2 days! :p I was around 4 years old and I just remember that I sit in mother's lap, because rest of the car was so full packed excluding driver's seat. ;) )

and oh yes, I truly want my own Mini now. and not the new one, the old one runs circles around the new one. ;)
