Last month at GDC Nintendo President Satoru Iwata announced that Revolution would be WiFi enabled. This was reported on major news sites and most game sites:

Today is was confirmed that Broadcom is supplying the wireless technologies to power the Revolutions wireless features.

Although Iwata announced the wireless features of Revolution at GDC and was reported by major news sites it seems to have flown under some reader's radar. Just want to make sure no one missed it this time

President Satoru Iwata, in a keynote speech at the Game Developer's Conference, said the new machine, currently code-named Revolution, will be backwards compatible. That is, it will be able to play all existing GameCube games, as well as ones specifically designed for the new system. Revolution will also be wi-fi enabled, allowing owners to play others around the country for free.
