no your not a retard, the lighting onthat scene is moonlit giving it the nioce 'moddy' dark patches. Since the pic is small with no obvious cross over (for self shadowing it's a dead givaway).

His right knee does seem like it might be doing SS, but until we get some bigger pics I think I'll stick with 'no'

From GI's information, the controls will be ala metroid prime, without the lock on. Likely not able to move at the sametime you shoot, same analog stick to move and fire so there's probably a trigger you press to aim your gun.

PS2 simply couldnt do RE4 as a whole, its one thing recreating a scene with the same textures, its another thing to have a city thats wide open and without door/stair transition loadings every rooms ala past REs and silent hill. Its hard to judge the poor scans though but once we see it in motion, i dont think there will be doubts ;)

This RE will be nuts imo, a village thats infected by the virus, but they're still quite "human" as you arrive, it will be quite a hunt

    GI transcript

Sounds so awesome, this is exactly what RE needed to revive the franchise and maybe even set a new standard for survival horrors.

It may be stil early to judge this since the pictures are so crap... but I swear Half Life 2 may now has a competitor in the visuals department

If it runs at a 60fps clip with those sorts of visuals in 16x9 480p, it's fair to say that Capcom truly are masters of their domain.

Hah, yeah right. I expect RE4 to run at 30fps, probably fluctuating unfortunately*.

    * this is if all of those shots are in-game, unedited. If not, then it might stick to 30fps.

Personally, I don't see what use there is in arguing if this game is doable on PS2 or not - lets face it, a game developed to the platforms strength will very rarely be able to run on any other console, simply due to the nature of each device having different strengths. Could PS2 deliver something more impressive? Yes and no - it's all perception, afterall. Besides, what have we seen of RE4 so far? If we are to judge those scans on page 1, then certainly seems to be very impressive, but at the same time it's a very bad representation of what the game will actually look like on a regular TV screen once it ships. Personally, it seems to look nice, though not all looks that highly impressive, though I'm betting that a lot of will make up for it when seing it in motion.

The only thing I don´t like about this game is that stupid troll. What the hell is a troll doing in RE?

Now tell us, Lisa, how do you *really* feel about the PS2?

Let's not praise this game up for something it's really not. Sure, it looks awesome, but it's not "God came to Earth and reinvented graphics technology" good...

Actual in-game screens have their share of imprefections, of course, there are pictures there that are concept screens, that are obviously not an in-game stuff.

I don't think the game has that. You can even see some circular shadows below the villagers in one of the pictures.

Yes, that is the one. On another shot that is on that same picture you posted, you can see that some of them don't even seem to cast any shadow. But yeah, it's hard to tell.

I expect it to run at 30FPS mainly because it looks kickass and isn't a game that NEEDS to run fast. ;)

Looking better and more interesting than past RE's... Maybe this one will actually pull me back in? The only one I liked in a while was Dead Aim, because it made the most creative use of the light gun so far, and the RE's were always rather shruggable except for the combat.

Heck, it'll probably be twice as good simply from FINALLY dropping that damn door animation! :p

Ok, I can believe someone surviving a zombie bite without even getting a minor pussing wound(despite all that tvirus stuff), but how is poor Leon going to recover after getting cut into 3 inches by a chain saw?
You know, that one picture reminds me a bit of manhunt.
