The offline backdrops looks more amazing than I remembered, can't wait. I wonder if Capcom is using higher quality models in game ...possibly the cutscene models?
That is some damn fine upscaling if that is what they are doing, I donno if they have access to the higher quality artwork and are rerendering them for this remaster.
I always thought/believed major developers for the most part retained their original assets across generations ...not just for future reference, but for any legal reasons that might occur (popup).
Why would the upscaling be better on PC?
RE1 is there in the top 5 games ever perhaps. I had the original on PC, which I bought at launch and played on a monster 3D.http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/2...e-release-on-pc-ps3-ps4-xbox-360-and-xbox-one
Great news I always wanted to play this version. RE1 was one of my favorite games ever
I get the sentiment, but I don't think so. REmake will always be the standard to meet when remaking a game, regardless of whether they do it again or not. I mean, lets face it... it's going to happen at some point. There are new audiences which only started playing Resident Evil with the modern remakes, and I'm sure Capcom sees that. REmake is an incredible game for people who are fans of classic RE.. but for modern audiences there are issues with controls, with static camera angles, with other quality of life features missing that they are used to. Those games will always remain, they aren't going anywhere, so I think there's room for a new adaptation of RE1. I am slightly biased though as it's one of my favorite games of all time and they could probably remake it every generation and I'd buy it up lol.The legacy of the 2002 remake would be destroyed if Capcom remade it. Ya reckon it would be remotely faithful? No. Probably not.
Capcom always cuts content. I mean, you cannot expect much from them. They didn't even add Barry into the RE3 remake ending, and there's a ton of other stuff they never bothered to do right.
OT; Resident Evil 2 (GOG) is out!not exactly this remaster, but GoG has published the original Resident Evil game -I still have the CD of the original game at home for the PC-, Resident Evil 2 and Resident Evil 3 in a new bundle. You can get the 3 games for 24,99€.
