This game seems to have real-time deformation going on. Looks great, but it seems like you would have to see it happening in real-time to really enjoy the demo.

Quick babelfish translation

As for the game FPS (first person ・ shooting and shooting of 1 personal point of view) with, the enemy seems in the picture the coming person the one person. This person real is surprised first especially. According to the story which was inferred afterwards, you say that inside the light which transmitted the skin projects and, the light which is reflected conversely has been reproduced. This enemy it seems it is the case that you shoot the coming person with the gun, but the expression to which the body of the person is destroyed quite is vivid. The meat is stripped, the bone becomes bare. Portion of the body is impaired the same region by the fact that you shoot many degrees. The body of that person it is recognized to inside by being destroyed, that it has been reproduced completely.

Please for the love of GOD 'one' can you translate? Thanks.:D

Is this going to be a traditional FPS, or Gcon gun style FPS? because it looks like the latter, which would be a good thing because i'd like to see more of these next gen :)

I'd love to see this demo in motion.

It's PC according to the translation. You can even see the Windows cursor in those shots...

Also, it looks like dog poo.

How can you tell either way? Its a 400x280 cap...off a video wall.

That babelfish quote piqued my interest at least. Next-gen gibs! ;)

The shirt looks like a slab of ham.

At GAF someone said it was being projected via a PC.

Its more a demonstration of the facial/skin deformation than anything else.

That does look pretty bad.

Is this a real PS3 game or what what was the final decision? PS3 or PC?

I wouldn't read much into it..but at least I buy that as a real game.

The DEMO was said to show portions or levels of the skin level being ripped away and exposing deeper layers. It then began to show bones and the bones themselves would deform or break off. Damage would also be different when shooting different parts of the body.

Even though I tilt more towards the 360 side of things, and even though this is a low quality cap, and even though it is only on a PC, this is one of the coolest next gen previews I've seen.

people, i think you're judging the demo on something it wasn't intended to excel in; it wasn't meant to show off supreme lighting or texturing, it was meant to show the level of detail that could be put into a death-sequence...ie, you shoot a guy, and there isn't just a quick flash of lght blooming and then pop, he's down in a quick rag-doll motion...
this is cool-something like this could be implemented into some awesome FPS' out there.

Reminds me of Soldier of Fortune. It's about time someone topped the GHOUL system. Next gen power should be able to make that happen.

EDIT: My one concern is that this thing would be most cool when done on a fairly sizeable scale. That is, if you could do this to 30 or more zombies at the same time. I'm not sure if these systems can handle that kind of load.

I dunno but I do like the sound of this stuff, wish we had a dang video to see it in motion. :(

I got to see the Redwood Falls demo firsthand. Those shots don't nearly do it justice. The skin regeneration is amazing. The concept of blowing off an infected humans leg and having it regrow a body creates some scary gameplay possibilities.
RE5 anyone? ;)

Hot damn!!! Now that is next-gen. That's something that can't be done on the PS2 or Xbox. I love hearing devs talk about actual next-gen concepts than just high res gameplay. I feel like a crack head and this video is my crack. I feel like I'm about to go into DT's.

Yep this is a PS3 game for sure people. Here's what IGN saw in person.

Kuju Entertainment, known for its recent work with Nintendo on Battalion Wars, the GameCube adaptation of the Japanese giant's popular Advance Wars strategy series, is now working with the PS3. At an event held today at the UK embassy in Tokyo, the developer gave the world a first peek at Redwood Falls, a first person shooter being designed for the next generation system.

Speaking with Japanese game site Famitsu.com, Wells noted that the point of the demonstration was to show some off the technology that Kuju has developed. He added that the demo could have gone further, with detailed recreations of internal organs, although this might have taken things too far.

He finished off with a particularly confusing comment: "in this game, the cells of your enemies have individual AI."

What?!? I wonder what they mean about the cells of enemies having indiviual A.I.? Would each enemy have 100 cells with each cell growing back or not depending on the hit strength or distance?

Sounds really really aggressive from a developers point of view. I absolutely love the fact that we have devs showing off games (PS3 games my god we've waited so long) that are pushing true next-gen gameplay. You gotta love it.

After reading the IGN article tell me how you feel about the potential of this game.

I dunno. That much gore is distasteful even to me. Over the top ridiculous gore is one thing, but hardcore realitic blood and guts? Not unless I'm playing a surgical simulation game, lol.

Dude games have been getting more gruesome since the 80's.
Don't expect things to stop now. I want to see the zombies lungs when I blast his chest with a 12 gauge. Ooooh.

This is going to be a weird generation for violence. Kinda scares me how far we'll be able to go (especially in game like Resident Evil or Silent Hill).
