Rainbow Six: Vegas (360) Announced

The game looks fantastic!! I use to love playing this on the computer back in the day. Truly enjoyed it on the XBOX and XBOX Live. Avoided Lockdown like the plague. The preview makes it seem like there are only three (3) members on the tactical team. At a minimum it should be four (4) (speaking tactics). This concerns me as far as the dev team taking the series back to its roots.

 are you saying you were in "blach hawk down" situation for REAL?

Btw, is anyone playing latest R6 for xbox1: Critical hour? Any feedback on graphic, gameplay, squad interface would be appreciated.

Oh and vegas screenies good as always, i like how models in distance blend in environment.

"For the first time, we've got not only a s***load of programmers, but also a designer dedicated solely to AI," says Béland. "It's a game that's not just [about] the people you're shooting -- it's also the people that are following you." Ubisoft can afford to do such specialization with a team 150 people strong that has been working on this title since early 2004.

Is this real, if so YYYYYEEEEEESSSSSSSSSSSSS finaly we star to see things like this

This game looks unbelievable.

It's awesome that this is just doable in and of itself. The promise that this holds for later generations of games is great. Maybe we will get those Killzone PS3 graphics after all.

:D

OMG!!! You just had to say that didn't you. Don't you know that word is the forbidden word?

I thnk anytime a new thread is started wiht screenshots of a next gen game, it should require a comparison to KZ in the original post. This way we can just get it over with. :)

This game is looking incredible and the preview only made me even more interested in it... if they can get some decent AI in there (unlike the letdown that was GRAW AI), and are putting as much work into the animations as they say, whilst also returning to "rainbow six roots" then this game should be phenominal!

As far as animation goes, I'd like less "flight simulator" style movement while going through maps in the middle of fire fights. Most first person shooters as you move around it's just hovering above the ground with smooth movement.

Every game that I can recall having experienced with iron sights aiming has this unrealistic "flight simulator" movement. Why can't game animators make it so when you aim with a guns iron sight and start to move you get a slight bounce (jerking) effect from bipedial motion? Once you stop aiming with the iron sights, then have it when you move let their be smooth "flight simulator" movement.

In every day life as we walk around we don't notice any bounce, but once you put something in front of you as a frame of reference like a gun (or just hold out arm in front of you as you walk around) you notice this uneven movement caused by bipedial motion.

Whats talked about in that article about noticing the difference in your teamates style of movement is neat. Really though what I want most is the coolest and most intense experience while firing a gun in combat. Work on the animations from gun recoil. Have special effect like motion blur and depth of field when aiming with iron sights. Previous Rainbow 6 games innovated in this area with retinal burn from flash bangs and the ringing in the ears effect. Those things increased the immersion level while playing.

I think whats so compelling about the e3 05 trailer is how beautiful the prerendered trailer is, but at the same time it relays a realtime feel through its use of assets that could be used in the actual game. That being said...the "target" in that target trailer is what many would consider the blurring line between what is prerendered CGI and what is capable in realtime. If they had toned down the particle effects and lighting and, of course, had in-game, non-scripted animations...that trailer would definitely portray something that could be done this generation IMO.

I haven't read all the posts on this thread but if someone already brought this up let me know. Cloudscapes is it possible for you to give any kind of information on the types of co-op modes this game will have? I'm really hoping for a split screen co-op mission mode where you can play all the single player missions with a friend.

Cloudscapes isn't allowed to talk about the game until the higher ups @ Ubisoft allow him to. And that most likely won't happen until after E3.

when it's all said and done and griping and arguing about which hardware is better, it's nice to see a fantastic game like this

i think they are using UE3

I'd assume it's using YETI or UBI Montreals customized version of it.

GRAW's single player is more outdoors, while R6:Vegas will be inside buildings for close quaters combat.

GRAW uses YETI, this uses an all new next-gen engine IIRC

the screen shots (and game) are now official ;)
