Question about getting a 360 with no HDTV

After reading alot of game reviews and alot of articles about the 360 from news sites. It seems useless to me to go by a 360. Or is it? I like most people cant afford a HDTV right now. I dont plan on upgrading till next summer to a new HDtv. I guess what im asking is should I by a 360 right now? Will the games still look good on a regular tv. The two I was going for was Kameo and Condemned. Any feed back will help, thanks!

About the SD IQ question, there are already a couple of threads on the Console Talk forum that might help you answer those questions.

However, if you think that the games are not worth getting at the moment, then that's another issue, you might want to wait till there is a game you actually want to play on the X360.

offcourse it will look great!

compare a DX6 level type of game at 1280x1024 on pc and
FEAR at 640x480 .

fear will look much better.
this resolution thing is getting out of proportion.

btw, buy a VGA cable and connect your xbox360 to your TFT, CRT monitor.
HDTV el cheapo.

BUT: do you really need an xbox360 now?

my mind says : buy one yes, its nextgen
my pocket and logic says : not much games, no money , and i dont want to sit on my chair and play on my pc monitor. i better game on pc.

your best bet is, find somebody (friend , brother sister, gamestore etc..) who has a SDTV and a xbox360 and see if you like it or not

Don't worry my friend. Pictures straight from Rare, this is what Kameo will look like on a regular Standard Definition(widescreen) TV. If you have a 4:3 tv just chop off a little on the sides, but still the same image quality :

Also if you want to see what Kameo would have looked like on your Xbox compared to what it looks like on 360. And these are both at standard def(640x480) resolution:

There is a definite improvement over Xbox, even at standard def, so I'd say go ahead and take the plunge. And when you get your HDTV you'll already have something to hook up to it.

There's quite a lot of AA on those "SD" shots you posted, we all know that the SD output in Cameo looks good but not THAT clean. That's at least 8xAA.
Still, the game is gorgeous and definately worth playing even on a SDTV.

On a HDTV (which everyone will get eventually), things are even better.
