OK, with Medievil, WRC and Wipeout Pure (If it's better than Fusion), SCEE will gain a huge chunk of my respect back. :D

because they are porting ports of ps1 games ??

Sony industrial design team >>>> Nintendo's.

Well the GCN isn't bad at all. In fact it's (imo) just as cool looking as the PS2 (heck, I think the Platnium Cube is better than the PS2). The DS, however, doesn't fare anywhere near as well against the killer sexiness of the PSP. The E3 DS was EXTREMELY ugly so the "live" DS is much better in that regard.

Oh and one last thing look how HUGE the PSP is compared to the NDS. If you call that a portable gaming console then so is a laptop including AC adapter.

The irony being that the PSP is actually smaller than the DS:

(sources: http://www.nintendo.com/techspecds and http://www.scee.presscentre.com/content/detail.asp?ReleaseID=3430&NewsAreaID=2)

DS is 5.85" x 3.33" x 1.13" = 22.012965 (cubic inches) = 360.727866 cubic centimeters.

PSP is 170mm (W) x 23mm (H) x 74mm (D) = 289340 (cubic millimeters) = 289.34 cubic centimeters.

PSP is 80% the volume of DS. :D

Comparing volume is very misleading. Take a CD jewel case for example. It has less volume than both a PSP or NDS but can you fit it in your pocket?

A NDS is pocketable not to mention it has a natural screen protector so you can actually put it in your pocket without worrying about the screen scratching. The PSP may or may not be pocketable and if it is you have to worry about screen damage and have to carry around a PSP pouch just in case.

Since when is porn allowed on this board? ;)

So do you see some space for me to put a modchip in there?

Policemen to guard publicity signs?

Policemen are just there for decoration (ya know, this is Japan) and so they have something to do, they hold the signs. (Actualy this is most likely not far from the thruth) ;)

If a DS is pocketable, then so is the PSP: at 3.33" (84mm), the DS is 10mm taller than the PSP, and 1.13" (28mm) thick makes it slightly fatter. The PSP is longer though, but only by 22mm (170mm verses 148mm).

I agree that the DS has the advantage over the PSP regarding the screen protection, though I wonder how long that bottom screen will last after its been abused by the stylus... :?:

That's about an inch longer so it'll depend on how deep your pockets are.

And I agree it's a valid concern, so we'll have to wait and see obviously.

this is so absurd. thats nothing a sleeve wouldn't fix. the psp IS smaller than the ds. also we'll see how long those touch screens last with the constant wear on them.

What are you talking about? If it's wider then it's wider. In fact it's wider by a whole inch. That CAN make a difference in whether or not it's pocketable whether you agree or not. As a matter of fact NDS is barely pocketable even with it's short width. And regarding the screen I already explained the issue with that, no need to repeat what I just posted.

Yeah i mean sometimes it's just too big to go in, even that little fraction of an inch, but if it's too much it's just too much. Can't just keep pushing, hoping it will go in somehow.
