Yeah i meant "expert" impressions. :devilish:

I haven't played a RR game since the first one on PS1... Loved it, and i can't wait to get the nostalgia back when you send me a PSP for Xmas or my Birthday (19TH March). Thank you. Very kind of you.

For vertical chopping does he mean screen tearing, V-Sync-OFF style?

I think so

I still get that while watching DVDs on my PC sometimes for some reason... Go figure, still haven't figured out why exactly it happens.
Non-integral multiples of the frame-rate as the screen refresh-rate.

Errm... i know what V-sync problems are, Albert, what i meant is that i'm not sure why it happens on DVD playback. ;)

Are you using a deinterlacer for DVD playback? If the player you are using doesn't have that well you will get that. Then again maybe you aren't talking about interlacing but real tearing. Which would sound like you aren't using a video overlay but blitting which can cause that.

lb, it could be that your desktop resolution is too high and your PowerDVD doesn't change your resolution to a lower resolution for speed.

I'm using PowerDVD and i think i've played around with the settings a bit too much.
What really pissed me off is that if i use overlays, the screen turns green very often, at least that's my experience. No idea why... so i might have turned it off.
I'll check all the settings tonight when i get home.

I think I'm going to try and get one later this month from a friend in Japan. Maybe with a few games too. Hopefully that wont require me to know too much Japanese

Do you know any Japanese?

I got my Sony DSC-T1 from Japan, and it was all in English. Languages are selectable so it shouldn't be a problem.

Also, as long as PSP is multiregion, you should be fine, i might get one too if i get a nice deal from Japan. Although i'd have to wait for English software cause there is no way i'm gonna navigate through incomprehensible Japanese menus.

Is PSP multiregion?
I know films will be regionalied, but there has been reports that the japanese game manuals have a region 2 mark printed on them.

i read on gamespot that lumines is mostly in english and so it was navigable. i guess i'd have to wait the the US launch to really start getting games. i hope they make a dragons quest for the psp
