PSP Go

I'd imagine so, but who or what is the source of the stories ?

Someone on GAF mentioned that the June Qore was exposed on PS Store early (accidentally). Is that true ?

Hmm, while these pictures look nice, the ones on Joystiq make the top half look awkwardly cheap and ugly. I am quite underwhelmed by this announcement tbh. If you spilt your user base, at least improve over what's already there (touch screen, better graphics, etc.).... I fear next week's next-gen IPhone/IPod touch will slaughter this.

The just posted utube video doesn´t support the notion that it feels cheap. It seem solid. I don´t think there is anything stopping them from actually have upgrades hidden in that device, higher CPU clock, better grapphics (from clock i guess) and most importantly more ram. Since this device doesn´t support UMD there can be PSP-GO only versions that looks better, but i think thats a bit off right now :)

The most important thing would be to ask, why better specs when the PSP is so far unchallenge on the performance part anyway. And as long as iPhone and iPod relies 100% on smear the screen as input, the games have to be limited. Sony only needed to add a Mobile Phone to the PSP-Go really, and Android of course :), then it would be a potential iphone killer.

They finish with 'I've got Gran Turismo on there for you' ... hmm!

Hmm doesnt seem to be any USB connection, maybe the PSP and PSP-GO can connect via Wireless and you can transfer your UMD games to the PSP-GO. It could work if they required a PSN login on the PSP-GO and PSP in order to validate you own it. The Validation should be worth 2 weeks of gaming before needed to be done again. Cumbersome but cheaper than restocking the games :)

Unintentional leaks from a company the size of Sony should last seconds, not hours, and people tweeted that they were downloading it long after I first heard of it.

Please tell me this is some sort of sick joke.

This device is not visually pleasing, does not have a touch screen, and has a smaller screen than the original PSP.

It has a multiconnector at the bottom, probably for charging, USB and a/v-output.

Right... no UMD, so does this mean you rinse & repeat process of download & deleting games whenever you want to play something other and wanting to come back?

Or is there any other storage delivery of games via memory card?

This PSP is no successor to the current PSP, so a touchscreen and games specifically developed for that in mind would exclude the current ~50 mil machines on the market.

Touchscreen for navigating the XMB would be cool though. :) Not sure if it would work well with the XMB though, and remote play with PS3 is video feed so that might render complications.

The iphone/touch are competing with Sony ericcson, Sony electronics not psp.

It is only competing with ipod touch...
For Now

Unless Sony Electronics decides to share the Playstation IP with The Sony Ericsson joint venture...

We can see a shift in that direction, starting with the SE Aino Mobile phone, that shares the same remote play function as the PSP.

Hopefully SE shares the same multi media touch interface found in the Aino with the PSP Go. :)

And also shares their new PlayNow Arena

You should be able to archive the content to a PC, or keep stuff on an external flash storage. Otherwise, it will cost Sony bandwidth $$$ for the redownloads too.

That's so un-Sony. I don't believe you (or the sites that reported it). :devilish:
