It's a lot of supper sampling. Maybe you'll get AwesomeFood x16 with the new offering. The tempura reconstruction on the fourk could be a little greasy if not done right tho.
I swear i see more jaggies than before.Too much super sampling ends up rolling back!. :yep2:

I went outside yesterday and couldn't see any chemtrails. Do you know what that proves?

Invisible chemtrails.
Oh noes! Not seeing them anymore is the first sign of poisoning.

Alcohol blocks the chemicals, you must drink continuously from now on!

You say this...

Yet...

You sound confused.:yep2:

A hardcore gamer with a 720p TV, who refused to buy the PS4-Neo because the resolution would be to great... yet purchased the hypothetical more powerful XB1 upgrade. Some of you guy's are a riot...
Because i want 60 fps in my 720p TV!.With PC at least can choose resolution and have trillions of fps!!!!.:runaway:

I am still bummed by the mild CPU overclock. They really can't overclock it a little bit higher even at 16nm? I was expecting like 2.5ghz.

They overclocked the GPU at 911Mhz. That shows spirit IMO. Neither 900 nor 910mhz! Apparently they found this nice car optimal number.

Couldn't they make a little effort on the CPU? Like 2111mhz? even 2101mhz would show that they are trying to push the hardware at some kind of virtual limit... I don't like this rounded 2.1ghz number.

It's essentially an updated PS4 for an additional $100...

Are console gamers willing to pay an additional $200 for more power?

IMHO, it seems Sony went for the middle ground approach between hardcore gamers and typical gamer. Something quite affordable with a little bit more processing power. Going straight hardcore would only guarantee a certain amount of sales...

Checking his post for mention of pc........

Found none.

Your fanboy invisibility spell is weak please jog on to your appropriate xbox related thread.

K, thanks, bye.

Sorry sir, read the end of this post, even with a fabulous picture:

P.S: I am only a fanboy of the best tech as most in this community i assume. Yeah, I confess. And Jaguar is not best tech, I don´t like, yeah, i confess.

It's always so endearing to see threads being used to discuss individual purchase decisions, whether or not each individual will buy something according to his own expectations, preferences and life situations, as well as, of course, to discuss platforms that have nothing to do with the topic.

Nobody cares about your Xmas shopping plans. Really. Nobody cares.

Ein?. Whats the problem with you?.

A public forum would be the last place in earth where i would mention real shopping plans, although as it seems some people give some claims much importance for not giving care, about all the criticizing Sony ones. Anyway don´t think anybody really cares about your tastes and your love for Sony.

I supposse we can be critical here, right?. Everybody until now was in a good mood here.

Maybe if I experienced 4K I'd appreciate it more?
Even without a 4K set, targeting a 4K resolution and downsampling to 1080p will produce a better overall image. Well.. assuming a decent downsample.

edit: this thread is nuts. Do none of you people work?

Latest GCN (1.2) were far more BW efficient with all the delta compression stuff innit.
Generally, but not without caveats.
If the PS4 Neo's GPU supports it, it might explain one of the motivations of requiring an explicit mode that older software must invoke to use the new features. Delta compression is generally transparent, but it has certain conditions where it can incur additional costs. When small accesses are truly scattered about in memory, the compression pipeline is itself a cache that can be thrashed. AMD cites shadow map filtering as a case where it can make things worse.

It would seem with that CU load and minor bandwidth increase that it would be helpful to have, however.
Whether there is any change in ROP capability beyond clock speed increase for the fanciful increases in resolution is not clear.

How do you explain more available memory? Maybe this time around the secondary helper CPU actually works, and is fast enough for the OS side of things so it can work with its own RAM, freeing up the GDDR?

It could be a feature that didn't really work out, or a kludge for a problem Sony had early on. If Sony fixed it or decided to discard the feature, it couldn't risk breaking compatibility for what was already out there. The Neo represents a chance to bring forth a platform revision and then requires the software to explicitly say it can handle whatever changed model it has.

Somewhat related, perhaps the Neo's firmware and encryption start at a more mature level and allow a slow movement away from the partially compromised firmware of legacy PS4s.

If this thing is priced at $399 it will sell well IMO... I don't care how many "but I can build a better PC for $x" comparisons the pc crowd throw at it. It's going be a still going to be a capable 4Tflop box in a small form factor.

Wow I just caught up to the flurry.
Just a note to those disappointed with specs - I wouldn't take those as final. IIRC (looking at Durango) most of these developer boxes come with hardware that is around spec, but may not be. So in particular this Jaguar processor, could very well be something else, but in the meantime for alpha kits could be a Jag.

That being said, it's definitely happening, pretty excited for this years E3 - the internet has exploded slightly and that's always entertaining.

So Tonga or Polaris based?

I don't think it can be a simple doubling of the existing GPU since the bandwidth didn't scale up. It has to be a more BW efficient GPU. So is it worth the effort to shrink something like Tonga to 14nm or just use existing Polaris 10?

I think it would be pretty compelling for both Sony and AMD to use the new GPU.

Well whether they wanted to or not, I can't see how they could wait til next year to launch. This thing has gotten way too far out to go another year. They're not Nintendo, they have actual sales they can lose.
