[PS3] Uncharted 2

So what do people think about the animations? Is it improved upon in comparison to the prequel?

So far i haven't really noticed much of a difference, drake still warps around whenever you want to climb something, unless you position your character in the right position with relation to "where" drake can climb stuff (there are only one\few places where drake can actually climb\grab a ledge\rock, if your not close to them, drake will magically fly in position to be able to climb).

Im a little dissapointed by this as AC1 had much more fluent motion in this regard, and i kinda thought ND would improve upon the prequel in this regard, as the warping extremely obvious in the first title.

I'd rather them use this system than the completely automated (and boring) system that was implemented in AC1. Nothing about that was exciting at all. At least this platforming takes a little effort, not a lot, but still.

Well i bought U2 last night and I have to admit, this is what gaming is all about!!! For the first time in a long time I feel like my $60 was well spent!!

Me and Robert played through the co-op missions. At first I was enamored with it, but the missions just seem to drag on and on. After a while they become a shooting gallery. You just pick a defensible location and pick off the spawn points. It's a lot like Call of Duty, except sometimes it takes a long time before you'll get to move on to the next checkpoint. I don't think I could replay those missions many more times.

Gold rush might be more entertaining because you have quick objectives to complete.

I also find AC animation for some things is more smooth but then also for some things AC animation is very sudden.

My favorite animation is Ratchet and Clank because it has smooth transistions and character has weight.

There were only 10,000 people playing online last night. Not really sure what explains that. Maybe people are finishing the story mode first, as it is primarily a single player game?

I think that's the case.

Everyone is playing the SP on my friends with notifications turned off.

I have never seen so many people playing the same game. NOR has my message box been so quiet!

Add me if you want to play co-op sometime. PSN: Deepbrown

Yap, I saw about 2/3 of my friends list play U2 for the past 2 days.

But I won't be playing U2 MP for a while. Demon's Souls is calling. ^_^ The SP and MP gameplay there is phenomenal too. It's extremely rare for an RPG game to breakthrough like this, so I want to give that game my full attention first.

I am surprised U2 could snatch my attention away. I am usually a very focused guy. I think it's because of U2's pacing, and the way it gave me short sessions of gameplay until I forgot my time.

All in all, U2 should be able to sustaining wider interests than a hardcore RPG title. So I'll see some of you in Boletaria. [Wave goodbye]

EDIT: But if you guys host beer party in U2 MP, then drop me an invite :p

I was hoping that the heavily scripted co-op stuff in the beta would just be a beta issue but it seems to have carried over to the co-op missions.

The first mission is good as it's moves at a steady clip but the other two we played became tedious. It was stop, shoot the guys come out of the same place over and over, checkpoint, do a team based solutions and back again. Both maps were also VERY long with the same thing over and over.

I think I'm gonna stick to the campaign, finish it first and then go back to finish out the co-op maps just for the sake of completion.

With what little MP I have played, I think competitive gunplay is fun too. Insomniac introduced new game modes to RFOM about 3-4 months after release. I wonder how aggressive NaughtyDog will be in updating the MP modes.

They will face MAG in January (?) next year. And may be R3 after that.

Almost completed it I think, at chapter 25. This picture I took would probably qualify for a PS4 game. Big spoiler

For a moment there I thought my PS3 ripped a hole in the space and time continuum.

Couldn't resist...went and picked it up during lunch today. Now it's sitting here next to me teasing me until I get off. Not really sure why I waited this long and didn't pick this up on Tuesday. Not that I would of had much time to get into it until this weekend...Anyways...Looking forward to some great SP and co-op play.

Yup, I got confused when I saw that too, in a good way

Any word on how this game is selling?

For Japan: http://www.andriasang.com/e/blog/2009/10/16/uncharted_2_early_sales

The Sinobi retailer blog, usual source for early sales info, reports first day sales of 47,000 units for the game. Not only is this impressive for a foreign game, but it's also impressive compared to the original Uncharted, which sold just 7,300 in its first day back in December 2007.

Regarding the franchise's popularity, the blog notes that the original remained a long seller even after dropping off the sales charts, and saw a boost in sales from its budget version.
