[PS3] Uncharted 2

Thanks patsu I was going to pick up LBP for my wife tomorrow anyways that's a game I really wanted to play myself so now knowing we can play local is really cool. Some thing I can't figure out on U2 is how do I get some of the "perks" I see people have like point and shoot? I'm at level 6. I honestly never thought I would like U2 being more of a "twitch" FPS die hard but I had a smile on my face every single kill and death I had. Best first impression I had was thinking that L2 was to aim and found out its not at all lol. Nothing like killing yourself the first button you press on a new game.

I have not applied any booster to myself. The rest will be able to comment more on the topic.

EDIT:

I am a big RFOM fan myself. I noticed that U2 MP has that addicting feel/flair like RFOM. So it must be doing something right. It shines 'specially when the players are really close in capability. Unfortunately, I can't allocate enough time to dig in yet.

So true.To a point most people can't imagine.

Could you explain this a bit more?

The cartoonish art style is making the game less impressive? It´s just your opinion or is that based on some information we didn´t know?

I´ve always thought that N. Dog could use their engine in other type of games, because it´s so good. But their other franchises are cartoonish too (Jak, Crash). Nevertheless, if Sony chooses N. Dog to do (for example) a new Syphon Filter with a realistic look that would be jawdropping for sure.

I wonder what engine would be more suited to build a new Syphon Filter: Guerrilla´s one or the engine of N. Dog.

I downloaded the public beta and is soo sweet, it runs so smoothly and the amount of detail, the general look (and the sound, pretty good indeed) is so pleasant that I can´t find anything disgusting in the game. For now, in consoles, it so unusual the mix of gorgeous graphics and rock-solid framerate -in on-line gaming- that I´m really impressed.

When in the menu press R1, there you can buy perks. With the square button you can "equip" the bought ones. The perks have usually a level cap/can only be bought after level x (depending on the perk).

You can also buy new playable characters/skins, taunts, co-op upgrades etc.

Anyway, I'm stuck at lvl 11 as my last 15 games or so were always interrupted and I lost all the aquired cash, so I have stopped playing it for a while.

Cheers...

I suck at this, hope no trophies are online.

I swear blind I got someone with a headshot (Sight was on their head before I shot the first round - They weren't that far away from my character) yet they still killed me.

....this is what really pisses me off about the MP but i cant stop playing for some reason

These are typical lag issues. I think you'll notice it most strongly in a sniper rifle match. However, the more you play with people with good connections / in your region, the better it gets. You'll see improvements as the number of online players go up further and further.

Only two online trophies.

Sorry Phil, I was in the middle of a dead match at the time, and thought my keyboard's battery died hence the short messages (in reality of course I grabbed the wrong keyboard thanks to no one bothering to make a keyboard that connects multiple devices at the same time).

That's the bug I mentioned earlier. Aiming at close distances isn't justr inaccurate - it's broken.

I havent noticed it either, also I generally tend to hip fire at close range so even if its there its not a problem for me :)

i think i'd rather SEE the lag and know its there so that i can adjust, rather than just getting shaffted everytime im in a 1 on 1

If you are an experienced MP player you should'nt have a hard time spotting the lag.

You can calibrate it in many ways like the delay player takes to pick up objects the explosion sound of nades [there are two types of sound actually the 2nd one comes after the lag time] & then there is the time it takes to defeat the other opponent.

I guess I'm used to more of a visual indicator (players jumping around/stuttering about). Picking up items in U2 never has shown any indications of lag (to me) just the firefights. I also don't like to hold the trigger as that makes for less accuracy. I guess I'll wait for the release, hopefully I can get into lag free games

If there is no delay in you picking up items & weapons then the game is basically lag free...anything you are guessing should just your assumption then or maybe its the other player who is lagging.

And I like it when the game does lag hiding, I just hate to see players shuttering, teleporting & jumping around [one reason I hate Gears of War]

i never said i prefer the jumping around, its just thats what im "trained" to look for. i like the smoothness of U2 i just need more practice in detecting the lag
