[PS3] Uncharted 2

For me, it's definately going to be both. I'm not really interested in the Uncharted 2 multiplayer anyway, so CoD won't be in the least competition on that end. I might play a bit of U2 MP here and there, but the meat is definately the story mode.

Really looking forward to it! (more so than CoD)

I've liked the Uncharted 2 multiplayer better than any FPS online shooter. The combination of melee, cover and climbing is just really great. With the new improvements they added they improve and expand the melee options further which I love.

I don't think many people will skip Uncharted 2 altogether, especially not here. Most people will at least play the single player campaign, and they're bound to try the multiplayer at least once. And since the single player and multiplayer skills really overlap rather well, I think we'll see it become fairly popular. It may not have the longevity of a CoD, Killzone or Halo, but I can't even rule that out completely both because it's so unique and because they've got that rather special dynamic patching system.

Are they worried about going up against COD 6? For me its an easy choice, Uncharted 2, but I guess for Ostepop and a bunch of people on here its COD 6. Ie FPS dudes will get their latest FPS fix and when their done, they just might skip U2 completly due to the next big thing and overlooking U2.

U2 for me. COD has long legs, it can wait ! But I can't miss my date with Elena  :D

Some of us have the purchasing power to buy more than one game at the same time, if both are interesting ;)

I enjoyed U1 and i loved CoD4, so im getting both, regardless of when they release.

Plus, the virtue of the holiday season is that gamers will be purchasing games for quite a few months, meaning they can stretch out their purchases.

What about AC2? Surely that's massive competition - best selling new IP.

That was before people played it and the backlash began. Plus the game was massively discounted the holiday season it came out, I think I paid $35 a month around release.

Uncharted had the opposite circumstances, great word of mouth and no discounting (even now).

Also don't forget Game Informer gave AC a 9.5 and Uncharted a 8.75

I dont think Game Informer had any impact.

Ubisoft's advertising will ensure that AC2 will sell much more than U2 - the question is whether this will impact the sales of U2.

I'd like both and I know that I'll be getting U2 first, AC2 will have to come later.

Don't think I'll be buying MW2 for a long time because of the stupid price.

Perhaps u paid $35 for a USED copy. AC was not cut in price a month after its release. BULLSHIT!

Perhaps you found some store slashing AC's price in order to get more costumers during the holidays, that is however compeltely different.
AC's retail price was NOT cut a month after release, that is ridiculous!

How is this relevant to anything??? GI reviews scores have no significant impact on game sales.

BS! Uncharted 1 is in the Platinum PS3 game series, selling at $30.

Anything else?

Personally I won't buy AC2, I think, since I got seriously bored with AC without getting more than maybe an hour into the game.

@Ostepop well I assume it won't be the same for most of the game buying public.

Anybody want to guess on PS3 sales numbers for U2, AC2 & COD6 then :)

Not in the US. SCEA is very, very reluctant to drop the price on PS3 games. Gamestop has it listed for $50, amazon has it new for $60. It probably won't go Greatest Hits in the US until after U2 is released.

Well, if that's the situation, then comparison about retail price is irrelevant, as SCEA pricing doesn't reflect demand. And thus not an indication for uncharteds strenght in sales.

Gotta wonder why SCEA are acting this way, after all, simple math should tell them that they would earn more money by dropping prices on the old games. Idiots!

Holiday Season? First months sales?

I'm going to guess AC2 is around 1-2 million X360/500k-800 PS3. I think UC2 on PS3 will cannibalize some of AC2 sales and probably vice versa.

I'm going ot guess MW2 is around 2-4 million X360/1-2 million PS3.

Uncharted 2? No clue really but I'm hoping it does at least 1 million.

Chances are, I'm probably completely and totally wrong as I always am with guessing games. :p

Can you believe this?

And that is from the original uncharted.

Well that looks like an offscreen shot [& it is an offscreen shot indeed] they tend to make the lighting look even more realistic. But yeah UC1 looks damn good.

I think MGS4 has better looking water and (much) more advanced water physiscs than Uncharted 1, but i suspect Uncharted 2 will show off some amazing tech.
