[PS3] Uncharted 2

In my opinion the game looks amazing, and with such an amazing looking game people will always try to make it sound ten times more spectacular than it actually is.
Yes, or people will always try the opposite of what you said. Personally, I can't remember seeing a video game as visually striking as that 5 minute gameplay video anywhere.

It is OB. But it seems like it's applied only sporadically and it's unlike other MB techniques encountered this gen (AFAIK). Not that that's a good thing :p

Seems so though it really is strange. More like some kind of merge between frames to create a blur trail. Honestly looks more like a graphical artifact.

Nice dev shot or they managed to get PS3 to do 4xAA

These are ingame.

I thought the video should have looked good, but honestly didn't expect it to look that good. Awesome job ND.

The main problem for me is that platforming and gunplay seem still separate, as in the first. Not that it's a bad thing, but a real hybrid approach would have been so much more awesome. Hope they find a way to stuck a couple of such sections.

Nice to see stealth in action though.

Becouse Gamersyde provides videos of very high quality only a notch(es) below how it looks on the TV. Thus you can see the jaggies and all flaws that are masked in blurry small videos.
These shots arent direct feed quality.
This is direct feed quality.... and "notches below how it looks on my TV."
These Gamersyde shots look like smeared shit. Obviously the low resolution texture here and there is inherent to the game itself, as are the jaggies, but these (gamersyde) images are blurry and have artifacts.

Why does the game look like shit in all of the photos taken from the video?
Like the screenshot above, for example. It looks terrible.
It looks sharp, detailed and beautiful in motion, but in the screens it looks like a jagged, low resolution mess.
Is it the source material?

They've also reduced the shadow resolution.

:???: Where?

Not really, isn't that shot what has come to be called a bullshot?

You can clearly see aliasing in that screenshot. I'm positive it is not a "bullshot".

I really hate that term, I can't help but think of pre-pubescent teens when I read it. We're all mature enough to know what we're looking at, the need to comment on it in such an immature manner is simply unnecessary, IMO.

Edit: And to refer to an earlier post of yours, I have to disagree, RE5 looks good, but this separates itself. RE5 hides a lot in high contrast and black crush...I don't think it looks quite as good.

I remember awhile back when drake's fortune was released, Ruliweb did tons of 720p shots and HD vids on their site and the image quality of those captures far exceeds those of the gamersyde's. So Ignoramus and tha_con were right, the shots from gamersyde are low quality highly compressed feed and simply can not be compared to the PNG direct feed of Ruliweb. Though I love Gamersyde's effort as always and they do provide some excellent video feeds.

It most certainly isnt a bullshot. Aside from the aliasing all over the place, one need only compare to tried and true bullshot.

The Gamersyde feed shown a lot more aliasing than those screenshots, so it's clear to me that neither are accurate representations of the game's IQ.

I don't see how that explains UC2 looking better than RE5 but OK...

Though the etymology is rather 'low-brow' in origins, 'bullshot' is a convenient abbreviation to mean a not-in-game screenshot that's in some way enhanced game-engine. If you can think of a better term, please suggest it! Otherwise just accept it as a practical word with an unfortunate sound. ;)

Nah dude, the one he posted is deffinately touched up. It looks a million times better then the gamersyde shots you posted.

Very clean and not a jaggie in sight were as the gamersyde have loads of them.

OT : This is a game that would really really benefit on PC over consoles, its just a shame that a game with good textures like this is spoilt by lack of AA and AF. :)

I think the lot of you should relax about this game, the best looking game for this fall will be:

Assassin creed 2 :devilish:

Okay, but that was still a direct feed shot. We'll have dozens more of them at E3, but it seems like the 2xMSAA fails under certain conditions.

The shot he linked to had not a jaggie in sight and was chrisp and clean. Actually shots are the oposite

My linked shot had visible aliasing on Drake's hands and in other places. Would you prefer I draw an arrow to every aliased portion of that ss?

This shot is still tons better in quality than the Gamersyde captures, you can see some jaggies but most of them were covered by the DOF and motion blur. Heck even Uncharted 1 looks tons better in PQ, I'm sure grandmaster could back me up on this.

 The shot he linked to had not a jaggie in sight and was chrisp and clean. Actually shots are the oposite

I'm not speculating on what it is, it's simply that you post came across as highly condescending, as is your reply to me with the rolling-eye smilies.

Nice dev shot or they managed to get PS3 to do 4xAA

The reason being is that you might as well have said

That's a bullshot, it's 4xAA, on PS3, lolz

However, you know think that it's higher AA than 4x? I don't know what it is, as I'm not really one for pixel counting, but maybe it would be better to back up your claims and patronisation with technical proof?
