[PS3] Uncharted 2

These skins give a good idea of how other games would look on the ND engine. I'm not gonna spend 5 bucks on skins for characters I care nothing for, but I look forward to seeing them in game.

Oh, and this improves the options for the Machinima mode a fair bit. Has anyone heard of any good creations from that component? Seems a shame for ND to put it in if no-one ever uses it.

Actually, if it's new skins, I would love to look at Chimeras in KZ2 engine and tools. It'd be more atmospheric and gritty.

Resistance 3 had better look this good! The Infamous skin seems a disadvantage to me though. Sometimes I have trouble spotting targets, especially the dark bad-dudes in dark levels. The glowing arms of the Infamous skin is a giveaway.

Here is a nice comparison of the Helghast soldier:

Hm, I really like the design of the HG soldier - looks phantastic!

Seems to me that ND still has to find a trick to make the eyes glow ;-)
I don't know if it is due to different camera views, but looking at the helmet of the KZ2 soldier, one can really see the polygons, whereas the ND soldier has a nice smooth and round helmet silhouette.

Other than that, it is pretty much the same if you ask me - cool!
(Looking forward to KZ3 where GG promised that they include detailed high frequency textures for characters!)

They should be able to pull that off. they ahve a glow material on the Infamous chap. The light on the soldier's armour could be faked with a couple of lightmaps faded in according to head direction.

Wow, didn't see that coming. The Helghast model from UC2 looked sharper and sports higher poly count while the dynamic red lights from KZ2's version made it more cinematic and menacing. Yep, still prefer the KZ2's model :) though it's interesting to see them all here.

A lot of the higher ranked players WANT the disadvantage...like the glowing eyes and heart on the skeleton.

Nathan Hale and Cole have the same bald, sharp chin look. :)

I think I like Sev's design and Chimera most since they are more distinct. The Helghast looks good too but without the bright red eyes, it doesn't look right.

Well I was mostly wondering if there's a chance to boost those sales figures by doing a bundle.

But they may have waited too long.

The bundle was for 250Gb PS3 outside NA, will have limited boosting effect. Perhaps wait for it to be bundled into the entry level SKU ?
The only difference between the SKUs is the size of the HDD, most people would get the low end model and then upgrade the HDD on demand.

A bundle makes less money per unit then selling it at full price in a store; granted, it probably moves a lot more units on the other hand.
I think it takes a quite complicated calculation to see which is the more profitable in the end.
