[PS3] Uncharted 2

Giving enemies the same moveset as Drake is going to make things VERY INTERESTING.

You masochist ! I was groaning about the same thing in my mind when I read that (Groaning in a somewhat happy way).

Did they say if they are going to have any on-line mode or co-op mode ?

That outdoor snowy scene looks very nice...

However, maybe those were just bad screens in the last 9 set there. But is there some unwritten rule that textures on walls in console games must be a blurry mess? I see this all the time. Detailed characters and then for their environment and background blurry messes for walls and whatnot. That kitchen scene just looks horrible.

SB

Didnt really look too closely but the images as a whole looked brilliant.

It's a work-in-progress. Textures in the first Uncharted were intricate and fine.

Then again, it's probably a good thing to keep your expectation low. ^_^

During certain moments in the first Uncharted, they applied DOF heavily to put the focus on the characters (ie: melee combat moments etc.) so the entire background would be blurred. But most games have relatively blurry backgrounds due to DOF. Uncharted had some of the best textures on console, and I'm sure they will be at least as good in Uncharted 2.

Have you ever played Uncharted? Because it has some of the best wall textures/environment textures ever in a video game. Play the game - they've also created a new motion blur system for U2, which is great - meaning in movement the surroundings will blur.

Please show you know the prequel before critiquing something in the sequel.

It looks really good.

I wonder if Elena will make a come back. I'm afraid Elena is going to look a little dopey standing next to that new hot dark haired chick.

Just played the original Uncharted demo (new PS3) really didnt care for it. Controls..lets say I dont like them and they dont feel solid to me at all, difficult to aim. Enemies are bullet sponges..graphics are hit and miss, some impressive vistas but also marked flaws (jaggies, shimmering, tearing). Overall I did not find the graphics that impressive.

I didn't see any jaggies or shimmering out of the ordinary, tearing a little but not much.

Head shot is a one hit kill in Uncharted. And I think the controls are perfect.

Everyone, meet Rangers. Play the full game - that's one of the least impressive levels in the final game. Demo is also earlier build. COME ON!

Isn't that a bit harsh, I mean he is talking about the pictures he has seen. And not what was in U:DF, still maybe they have changed it for U:AT? :)

He mentions "why do games not concentrate on environment and wall textures" when Uncharted and the developer, ND, are one of the few games that actually do.
